What is a good pulse ox that can record overnight?

Post by Jesta23@yahoo.com » Thu May 07, 2020 6:14 pm

I have a CMS 50d+ but its getting very old. I have looked for newer models but I am unable to find anything. Does anyone here have any suggestion on where to find one that can record and upload to a PC or smart phone?

50E, 50F, 50I, then there's the 60 series, but I don't have any experience with them, or know if Oscar can import the data.

Nope, nope, nope, nope, aaaand, nope.

You're quite right. If only some people would take the time to see if what they're posting is even remotely accurate :(

For OSCAR compatibility, the only ones that I know of are the various Contec models already suggested by other forum members.

Unfortunately, trying to find one right during the pandemic can be difficult. They're pretty much sold out everywhere. They used to sell a lot on Aliexpress, but for some reason, you can't find even a sold-out listing for any recording oximeter on Alixpress. You might be able to find one on ebay.

This CMS50F will be available on Amazon on May 15, with pre-ordering now.. It's a recording pulseoximeter, and I believe it's OSCAR compatible.

I have a CMS 50d+ too. The 60D I had didn't last more than a year. Fortunately my 50D+ has lasted for many years. I've been eyeing a 5Oi, but they're almost impossible to find. I hope you find what you're looking for!

Chris

I just clicked on the Amazon link Chris provided, and it came up with one still available right now.

Grab it if you can.
Since hypoxia is a known complication of covid19, every home should have one--
even if it only reads in real time.
I suspect that oximeters will soon be in short supply for this very reason.

This was in stock so I grabbed it.

My 50d+ still works, even after getting washed once. I lost the USB cable to it, and I guess it needs a special cord to upload. I tried replacing it with a standard usb and it didnt work.

Yes, that's it. For $10 plus shipping, if the old 50D+ is still operational after the wash, why not?

Yes, that's not a regular USB cable, the head end of it has a chip that converts the USB to regular serial data, for some strange reason they put the USB chip in the cable itself, instead of the reader. which confuses a lot of people since it *looks* like a plain USB cable.

it's a conspiracy, i tells ya! i have a nexus 7 android tablet. (yeah, i know it's old, but i loves me that 7" form factor.) it takes that pesky micro usb tip. and it is harder than absolute hell to get it seated properly when it's time to charge.

<sigh>

I had to dig up my CMS-50D+ as it appears I've picked up the virus. I went for my test Friday so it will be a while. In the mean time, I'm trying to keep myself out of the hospital as best I can. I wanted to upload the information from my Oximeter. When I start it, it says I'm using version 4.4. I originally tried to hook it up with a camera USB cable which it wouldn't recognize. Then found this thread and looked for a grey cable and found what I was looking for. It recognizes my Oximeter, but tells me to go to the menu and select "Upload." No such option exists. It has an Alarm sub-directory, a Record sub-directory and Exit.

Is there any way to update the software in my Oximeter to make it give me an upload option or do I need to use something other than Oscar to get the data off it? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I downloaded the Silicone Labs drivers.
