Red is inhale pressure the machine gives
Green is exhale pressure the machine measures

The difference you see between the two is your "Flex" setting. Based on your graph, Flex =2

When you disable Flex, then green and red almost overlap.

Dreamdiver educated me (us) there

Resperonics is upping the pressure by 1.5 cm to see if that helps you and if not, then returns to where it was. This is baked into the algorithm. It is also a reason why some folks prefer ResMed over Resperonics.

I'm not bothered by it, but can see how people experience it as a punch to the nose

His Flex is likely set to 3, the Max.

Respironics' Flex is not a CM drop like ResMed's EPR. For Flex to get a 2 CM drop it's probably because it's on its highest setting (3).

I prefer to think of Respironics Flex setting of 1, 2 or 3 as Low, Medium and High.
