Haven't slept in a week & First time graphs
I’ve recently struggled with my Phillips Dream Station. I’ve been a CPAP user for about three years with moderate success. The truth is that I never adjusted any settings up until about a year ago when it wasn’t acting properly. I have no idea what my initial settings were. Currently I have my dream station set on Auto with a min of 7.5 & max of around 16. Over time most of my struggles have been with humidity and air actually irritating my cartridge in one nostril from a deviated septum. My most recent and biggest problem has been air coming back into my mouth, causing my cheeks to push up until a basically open my mouth to burp it out. To me, this feels like a setting. I’ve never had this issue before. I’ve attached my graphs from OSCAR but this is my first time doing this. I appreciate any support whatsoever as I JUSTWANNASLEEP
Facts
*Currently have it set on auto with a min of 7.5 and a max of 16. I have zero idea if I need that much pressure
*Flex setting is on 2, it’s previously been on 1 for the past three years until last night. I changed it because I’ve been having this air in my mouth problem for about a week.

Re: Haven't slept in a week
Please review this thread for detailed graph formatting instructions. We don't need all those graphs and when you cram so many into a tiny space none of them are easily seen for review.
viewtopic/t158560/How-to-post-images-for-review.html
Search the forum for "chipmunk cheeks"...what you are describing is common.
I can't see the events graph well because it is so scrunched together but the snore graph is highly active which means you need more pressure.
Also your pressure line shows the pressure maxing out at 16 for a substantial part of the night.
You probably need more minimum and you for sure need more maximum pressure as well. The machine wants to and need to ...go higher but it can't because of the limit at 16.
I would suggest increasing the minimum to 9 cm and opening the max up to 20 cm.

Re: Haven't slept in a week
Also, I noticed the my dream station USED to turn off if I removed the head gear and let it set. It would know that it wasn't being used and shut off within a minute or so. Now it will run all day if I let it. I think this may be why someone noticed that my pressure held at 16 and maybe needed more.

Re: Haven't slept in a week
When you are in the clinical setup menu area changing the pressure settings take some time to look for a setting called
Auto Off....this is the setting that when "on" the machine will turn itself off after about a minute or so of mask removal.
So it needs to be "on" to turn itself off...weird isn't it.
If it says it is "on" and it still won't turn itself off...tell me which mask you are using.

Re: Haven't slept in a week
Sometimes with these nasal pillow masks the machine simple doesn't realize that the human is no longer attached due to the inherent resistance in some masks.
Assuming Auto Off is set to "ON"
Do an experiment....start the machine wearing the mask...then remove the mask and let the machine blow for a couple of minutes...if it doesn't shut off....unhook the short hose to the mask from the long hose and give it a couple of minutes. If the machine turns itself off...then you know it's just a sensing problem with the mask and you live with it. You will have to manually turn it off as long as you use that mask unless you detach the mask from the long hose. You might check to make sure you have the proper mask type or resistance setting (those X1 or X2 or whatever settings) for your mask.
If it continues to blow after 2 or 3 minutes and after the mask is no longer attached...you got a sensor problem and my thoughts are when we have one sensor problem then I worry about other sensor problems.
How old is the machine? How many run hours on it?
I have this happen with my ResMed machine....3 different machines...with my P10 nasal pillow. Won't shut off unless I remove the short hose. Other people don't have a problem with their ResMed machines and their P10s...I think it has to do with the pressure used and the size of the nasal pillows. People using higher pressures than me and/or larger pillows (I used a small) didn't have this happen...auto off worked perfectly.
Now with my current mask the Bleep...it turns itself off when I remove it just like it is supposed to ....so I know it is the mask that is the culprit. This is a common issue...so common ResMed mentions it in their manuals. Not a big deal.

Re: Haven't slept in a week
About the air in the mouth... Used to have the same problem and tried just about everything to keep air from escaping my mouth - taping, denture adhesive on lips, chin straps, etc. At some point I was able to train my tongue to stay suction sealed to the roof of my mouth.Took some time but it became second nature enough that it stays in that position even when not trying to sleep. This was probably the singular self-help tip I picked up on here that changed my cpap experience the most. Also, be aware of when your sleep position encourages gravity to work against you. A flat firm pillow for a side sleeper will help prevent jaw drop. Hard to drop when level. I am a side sleeper, and learned that sleeping with my face a little off the edge of the pillow allowed the front of my face to tip downward just a bit, making my tongue fall forward when relaxed, encouraging the above mention tongue seal. Also helps keep the tongue from relaxing into the throat.

First time graphs
I sleep terrible. I'm getting air in my cheeks at times but never have before. What do you think of this graph? I've been using a cpap for three years

Re: Haven't slept in a week
This shows you are bumping up against the upper limit of your current settings (14). You need to raise your upper limit. I suggest setting it to 20 and allow the machine to go where it needs to.

Re: First time graphs
Have your settings been the same over the years? And do you know why your pressure range is set at 6 to 14? Has your sleep been terrible the whole time, or just with the "chipmunk cheeks"? Do you have lots of wake-ups? trouble falling asleep? mask trouble?
With a little more information from you, I'm betting people can help you try to figure out what's going on.
