Holland America staff ignorance re CPAP usage

Post by mrcrayola » Mon Mar 30, 2020 1:59 pm

Just read a story, linked below, about a Holland America cruise line "officer" denying an 80-something year old man transfer from the floating coronavirus "Petri dish," Holland America's "Zaandam" to the ship Rotterdam "because [he] uses a machine to help him breathe during sleep and combat snoring." Shocking ignorance from at least an individual if not a company that probably hosts thousands of CPAP users every year! Apologies if this has already been noted here.

Maybe he should have stayed home, he chose not to, stay on your ship. Jim

Too late to change ship and infect everyone else.

Compared to the expense, decor, and menu of most retirement homes,
some have chosen to cruise year-round, finding it a much better place to live,
--and for less money.
Up until this year, that is.

I see no point in your posting this, what does it have to do with anything? How is this "ignorance re cpap usage"?

It delights me to no end that cruise companies who have registered their floating resorts
under foreign flags in order to evade US taxes, labor, safety, and health laws
now face the prospect of being denied federal bailouts.
YESSSSS!

And, perhaps, the ability to disembark at a US port.

Yeah, that might pinch a little . . .
Certainly likely to impact the bottom line.
Ah, yes. Karma really bites.
