Expiration Pressure Relief (EPR)

I keep my Expiration Pressure Relief (EPR) off all the time for some reason on my Autoset 9. I don't remember why. Reading up about EPR it sounds like a nice feature. What does everyone have their EPR set on? The settings are off, 1, 2, or 3? I have a ResMed AutoSense 10 Autoset For Her. Thanks for any responses.

For most people using EPR or not using EPR is just simply a personal comfort choice.
Some people like it and some don't.
I happen to really like it and when I was using the AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her I had it on and set to 3....that's what I liked. It felt good to me...more natural...to me. It doesn't always feel natural to others.

What I tell people about any exhale relief available on their machines....try all the settings include off and just pick the one that feels more natural or more comfortable to them.

I am now using a little bit different machine and I use what is equal to EPR at 4 if EPR could go to 4....I like it that much.
You might hate it though.
Only way to know is to try it and then you answer your own question because it doesn't really matter what the rest of us think about it....what's most important is what you think about it.

I find that using EPR significantly raises my AHI. From below 1 to over 2. It also significantly lowers my flow limitations (which are ugly/active), but frankly, I'd rather have an AHI of .3 than 2.3 so I turned it off. Of course, I want to stress, that is MY experience. Yours will be different. I am just putting mine out there.

For me... the EPR makes my mask fluctuate at night. When the pressure drops, the mask will sink in to my face (slightly). When the mask pressures up, the mask will slightly push out. As Pugs stated, it is a personal choice.... some people use it all the time and some people prefer not using it.
