nose irritation from nasal pillows

Post by AnneW » Tue Mar 03, 2020 8:09 pm

Hi everybody,

I have been using the Resmed airfit P10 nasal pillows for about a month now. Thanks to this board someone recommended it and it fits great and i have no issues. I enjoy using my cpap again. anyway i do get a little irritation with my nose and under my nose is a little red. I don't believe it is too tight. i have been using lotion in the morning but that doesn't seem to help much. So i thought i would ask everyone if they have any recommendations to help with that problem.

Thanks
Anne

Lanolin cream for nursing mothers. Works great. Lansinoh is a very popular brand.

Lanolin. (Lansinoh is very good)

Just put it on before you mask up and when you take the mask off in the morning.
A little goes a long way.

I've long used Ayr nasal saline gel when I start getting blisters, but I'm going to have to give the Lanolin a whirl now to see if I like that better.

Can you put this on the inside of your nose, or is it only for external use? Thanks

I agree that Lansinoh is great. Before I switched to the Bleep, I used the Lansinoh just under my nose and around the edges of my nostrils. Not inside.

It is safe to use the Lansinoh inside the nose if one wants to. I have used it on a snotty sore nose from a bad cold and repeated tissue wiping soreness. Just a little though....it goes a long way.

Though if someone is having sores or abrasions inside the nose from the nasal pillow....something is wrong with the size or fit because sores or abrasions shouldn't be happening in the first place inside the nose. Nothing from the nasal pillow should actually be touching anywhere inside the nostril.
