Can someone tell me what this means?

Post by Thumper1947 » Mon Feb 17, 2020 11:59 am

Hi,
My first post so I hope it works. Can someone help explain these screenshots. It looks to me like I completely stopped breathing for one minute and 45 seconds, and had very little breathing for eight minutes and 40 seconds. Also , what does that big grey area mean. Thanks in advance if anyone can help. I'm wondering how I'm alive and hoping I just don't know how to read this data.

Big gray area is BND (see bottom of events graph) which means machine was on but breathing not detected.
Maybe got up to go to bathroom or something and took the mask off briefly but didn't turn the machine off.

welcome to the zoo! and you did manage to post a chart, so that's a good job. i didn't get mine posted until after several futile attempts.

just one niggling little detail. this is how the experts like to see your charts posted-

wiki/index.php/Oscar:organize#How_to_order_the_charts

you have too much on your chart and makes it hard to see clearly.

btw, i am not one of those that can read a chart. i too have to post here for others to review. they'll be along shortly to explain it all.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Thanks guys. I’ve been trying to figure this out but I have a ways to go. It looked like my breathing was extremely shallow before that grey area, and then nothing. Is a breathing rate that shallow a problem? It didn’t trigger an event, but it looks like I was hardly breathing in, but still breathing out. Thanks again for the info.

I think your flow rate looks like you were breathing weird more due to the scale of the flow rate graph.
It needs to be adjusted. Sometimes the auto scaling feature does some weird stuff.
Unfortunately I don't know the steps to fix it....someone will be along later to explain how to override the auto scaling and make the breaths look more normal.

You don't need the snore graph or respiration graph. Snores are clearly flagged on the events graph. Respiration graph doesn't mean much and really isn't needed.

See this thread for the formatting of the graphs and which ones are the main ones to show.
If we need anything else we can just ask.

How to change the scale on any graph using windows mouse.
(Sorry - Mac or Tablet or phone users will need to experiment).

1) Right Mouse over the axis somewhere close to the numbers
2) Choose Y axis
3) Then choose override and type in a min and a max for the scaling
4) If you still don't like the scale - go back to (1)

Then scroll through time to see if you like the settings for the periods of strong breathing versus weak breathing.
The settings should be remembered next time your run the app.
