another humidifier question

Post by AnneW » Sun Feb 16, 2020 7:54 pm

HI

Im Sorry i was not sure if i should add my question to the other person post on humidifier or start a new one. I am finding that i am using more distilled water during the night then before. when i get up in the morning the water chamber is either nearly empty or completely empty and i am not sure if that is air in my bedroom is dryer or for another reason. I had the number at 4 and i turned it down to 3 and see if that changes anything. I wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing that i was going through so much. I have a respironics dream station

thanks
Anne

you aren't going to cause the machine any harm. if you run out during your sleep, you'll smell that wonderful burning smell. which i trust hasn't happened yet.

you say "i am using more distilled water during the night then before". what has changed?

it's hard to give advice about humidity because it's very much an individual thing. i hardly go through any and even though i live in the pacific northwest with it's high humidity during this time of year, i still have my humidity on and at it's lowest setting. this works for me. but it might not work for someone else in the same situation.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Things that affect water consumption.
1...Ambient humidity
2...Humidity setting
3...Pressures used
4...Presence of large leaks

Dry NE, the tank is dry after 6 or 7 hours set on 3. I am running a humidifier in the bedroom now, otherwise it would not last that long.

It's dry here (see my sig) because of central heating, but if it doesn't clear up when the weather's warmer and htg's down, then look into other things. Or is this really recent even though winter's on its way out?
