More technical ??? about Encore Pro

I now have my Encore Pro software (not yet installed). However I had downloaded a version of the software prior to this. Should I uninstall this.
I cannot find the software in the program files. When I go to add/remove programs it is not there either. I know it is still there because when I boot up my laptop it loads.
Is there another name that I should look for??

I also installed DTS3500-ISW-encorepro_v1_3.rar
Should I uninstall that as well.

Also installed the card reader software DT3500_UM_OSMN-EN-018-A
Should I uninstall that as well.

I have a 72 step installation process from another Member who says that I should uninstall everything and start over. I think that is probably correct, but don/t know where the file is for the original one I installed.
HELP!!!

If you know the original is loaded but can't find it, can you right click and find it? Or, can you do a search for encore pro in your computer files?

Have you tried Start, all programs, Encore Pro to see if it has a uninstall in the start program? Some do, some don't. Otherwise, it should be in the programs file if it runs, somewhere.

I just got my software (and everything else) today. Didn't have any problems installing anyting. But then again, I didn't have anything installed like a prior version.

Can you give a little more detail on what you've got? Are you running XP?

When you say that "when I boot up my laptop it loads" do you mean that you get the icon in the bottom right corner that says something like "Running \\D8DZY521\ENCOREPRO - MSSQLServer" ?

If so, I think you could probably install the new version right now, since what is running is the SQLServer or database only. That shouldn't need to be uninstalled.

BTW, the DTS3500-ISW-encorepro_v1_3.rar file is an archive file that is used for installation of the card reader.

I don't know how well the software is designed as far as dealing with previous installations, but as long as they didn't have some idiot coding it, it should take into account upgrading from a previous version.
