DC power cord doesn’t work

Post by mwalling » Thu Feb 13, 2020 5:00 pm

Hello,

I use a Resmed Airsense 10 autoset and Medistrom Pilot 24 battery when camping. After several months, the DC power cord no longer works to power my CPAP. The battery is functional and it appears to not be making a good connection when plugged into the CPAP. I ordered a replacement cord and it doesn’t work either. Any suggestions?

Does the AC wall outlet power supply still work?

Sorry! Yes the AC plug works! It appears as the dc cord doesn’t have a good connection.

The DC power cord/brick can fail.
Any way you can get another one and see if it is just the cord itself that is the problem?

If you're planning to use anything other than what you normally do, test it and do so in enough time to address any issue that might come up.

This applies to a battery pack and well as a travel CPAP. Unfortunately, it's not possible to test whether your CPAP will run properly on foreign voltage, but the risk of that not working is relatively low.

I’ve tried three dc cords. The first that came with my battery worked for at least a year with no problems. Then it started to malfunction as if there were a short in the cable. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn’t. If I moved it just right, it may start working. I ordered two replacements since and neither work. Now I can’t even get it to work by manipulating the cord. I think it has to do with the plug in on the back of the cpap but the strange thing is the AC adapter works every time!!?.

What I meant is to test everything several weeks before traveling each time you travel (unless your travel very frequently). That way, you'll identify any problems in tome to address them.
