Dreamware noise is keeping me awake
Hi,
After struggling with a constantly leaking amara view mask, I bought the Dreamware.
I used my Dreamware mask last night for the 4th nite. The first two nights were great, but last night and the night before were painful: I hear lots of noise around my face and if I wake up, it is difficult to get back to sleep.
I have the mask pretty tight, so I don't know what else to do. (I put the Resmed 10 on the floor next to the bed, so it's noise is not an issue.)
Any thoughts?

The Dreamware masks actually work best when they're a little floppy. Tight will throw off the seal.
I do love the Dreamware and use them for travelling and the very occasional nap, but the airflow through the side channels is noisy, as is the vent.

The rustling sound of the air going through the channels near my ears drove me crazy. But shorthill8, can you figure out what might have been the difference between the good nights and the bad ones? Did you tighten the mask somewhere in there, or was it the same for all those nights? Bed pillow any different? Sleep posture?

I got the deafing roar of the air tube channels when side sleeping with the Dreamwear, especially with me cradling the side of my face in my hand, basically lending a megaphone to aid the noise from the tube. Great mask, except for that, and finicky to get adjusted right to stop leaks.

I really cannot identify differences from the 1st 2 nights, if I could, I would certainly tell you. I will try looser fit tonight and hope it is better.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 10:43 amThe rustling sound of the air going through the channels near my ears drove me crazy. Re: Dreamware noise is keeping me awake
the dreamwear was problematic for me on many levels. I recommend trying the Resmed F30 or Resmed F30i. I found these models to be the ONLY FF masks that did not leak or make weird noises, didn't need liners, etc... I prefer the F30i ONLY because I prefer the same style as the dreamwear, hose on head. The F30 is also a terrific mask. I am female, and wear a small frame & cushion in case that helps.

Re: Dreamware noise is keeping me awake
I am a newbie but I have tried quite a few options so far and the dreamwear nasal pillows has been my best fit overall so far.
I really like the top of of the head style connection on the Dreamwear and the N30i and have struggled with full face options so I have mainly used those two masks.
I like everything about the N30i except the shape of the nasal pillows. I am not sure why but none of the sizes fit my nostrles right and I always wake up in pain. I have tried all of the sizes and changing the tension but none of it resolves the discomfort. If the N30i were more comfortable it would be my mask of choice.
The Dreamwear nasal pillows are drasticly more comfortable. I agree with the other poster that they need to be loose enough to be almost floppy. They are also hard to get lined up right in my nose, it takes some fiddling with to get them to seal and be comfortable. Make shure the side tubes in the headgear are not twisted inside of the cloth covers, it will make them loud.

Have you tried pad a check or other covers for the mask frame ? That might dampen the noise a little.

Re: Dreamware noise is keeping me awake
Thank you all for responding to me, I have given up on the Dreamware. It simple makes too much wind noise around my face and it keeps me from getting to sleep.Becca8104 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 9:41 pmthe dreamwear was problematic for me on many levels. Last night I went back to my AmaraView and slept well, never awakened by the noise of air movement
--I used a fabric pad inside the mask to reduce leaks, and I didn't have an issue with noise. But U-Sleep and MyAir both indicated I had significant "mask seal" issues. I don't care, I will for the moment stick with the Amara View...
Re: Dreamware noise is keeping me awake
I would definitely try the Resmed F30i. You may find it seals just fine without the use of liners or pads. You may find out you prefer the hose on your head. Not everyone likes that, but that is my personal preference. Most people try a lot of different masks before finding their best one.

the F30 is good too, no leaks & hose placement is the same as your amaraview.

Try some 3M disposable ear plugs.

Re: Dreamware noise is keeping me awake
I agree with their comfort. I just switched from the Resmed P10's and the top of head hose connection helps me find a more comfortable sleeping position. The vented air flow is more noticeable and takes a bit of time to adjust to. Where I struggle is the reduced use of humidifier water during sleep. I have the Dreamstation. With the P10 I used quite a bit, but with the Dreamwear I use much less. Any ideas as to why?arhdc wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2020 2:03 pmI am a newbie but I have tried quite a few options so far and the dreamwear nasal pillows has been my best fit overall so far.
