DME that carries Bleep

Post by IrisofNY » Wed Feb 05, 2020 9:00 am

I'd like to try the Bleep mask. Does anyone know a DME in the NY are that carries it? We currently have Cigna (Care Centrix) and will be switching to Medicare in June. Also, I have rocasea and very sensitive skin. Any thoughts on whether the adhesive will be irritating?

Any DME can order the Bleep if they would just do it even if they don't stock it in terms of inventory.
You would just need to ask the DME to order it if they don't stock it.....now whether they will or not is the million dollar question.
Some DMEs just refuse to get with the program and aren't helpful.

As far as adhesive sensitivity....not well known to cause problems as it is a special hypo allergenic adhesive but if you are super sensitive to tapes and want to test it out ahead of time send me a private message with your name and address and I will send you a small chunk of it to test out.

Thank you Pugsy.
I spoke with Care Centrix today and the agent actually called 5 approved DME's for me and none currently do or would carry Bleep at this time. I will just pay for it out of pocket for now to give it a try. The lack of headgear is too appealing.

Nationwide Medical Inc carries it and will file insurance but I am not sure they would be an approved source with your insurance company.
My insurance is out of network....bummer and my DME is being a horse's butt about ordering it for me as well.
People are getting it from them and Nationwide is filing their insurance. We've got a few threads here discussing it.

If your insurance company is using CareCentrix....they may not work with Nationwide Medical.

If you buy out of pocket, note that cpap.com is able to charge less
because they don't do the insurance song and dance.
They also have return insurance, often free.

You're responses are so helpful :)
I called Nationwide Medical and they are an approved DME with Cigna/Care Centrix.

I, too, have rosacea, both on my face and ocular rosacea. I have been using the Bleep since it came out last March, without any problems. Of course, that is MY experience. YMMV

Until October 2019, I also was covered under Cigna (Care Centrix). I bought my initial mask & DreamPorts out of pocket because I was SO eager to try it. I immediately started pushing my DME to supply me. I called and emailed regularly, approximately twice a week, until in May, I finally got my first 3 month supply covered by insurance (Care Centrix). My DME said they have to approve it each time (every 3 months), but they take care of that for me. Maybe that will work for you?

I did have a short period when I was uninsured at the end of the year. I had to buy my DreamPorts out of pocket. There is a supplier I use who has regular sales, coupons on top of that, and free shipping. I don't know if I can say who it is here on the board (rules?), so if you want the name, please feel free to PM me.
