It's been awhile.

I joined this forum several years ago after being diagnosed with sleep apnea. Aerophagia was and still is such a huge problem. I came asking questions and getting quite a bit of helpful advice, but I soon gave up and assumed that I sleep would forever be screwed.

I use my cpap religiously, but I'm not certain why. I can't sleep with it and I can't sleep without it. I get gas so bad within and hour of using it that I have to roll on the ground to get my belly to stop hurting, so three to four times a night I'm laying on the trying fart. That would be funny if I wasn't so f'ing tired. I can only sleep about 4-5 hours a night with the mask on. If I try sleeping without the cpap, I wake up gasping for air so often dreaming that I'm dying that I'm lucky to get 4-5 hours of sleep.

I have lowered the pressure from 10 to 8 but when I do that I wake up gasping. I have tried an autopap, a bipap, and a cpap, I have purchased numerous different pilows to adjust my sleeping position to no avail. I've taped my mouth shut for 4 years before giving up on that.

I'm at my wit's end. I would love to get Inspire, but I can't afford 30K. The sad thing is that my lack of sleep has turned me into a grumpy old man. I feel like I'm aging super fast. Before sleep apnea, I had a six pack, and many told me that I looked like I was much younger than I was. Now I 25lbs overweight, had a vertebral artery dissection stroke, have arthritic in both thumbs and neck.

Yes I know, I am feeling sorry for myself.

this is where we last saw you-

you didn't answer pugsy's question nor mine.

not trying to be contentious, but do you have an elite or what you currently list in your sig? the experts here will need more information from you in order to help you. if your machine is capable of collecting full data, then i suggest you get the software program, oscar, and start posting some charts.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Are you wanting some help or just want to rant?

It's okay to just want to rant but it's helpful for people to know if they are wasting their time here or not.

Rants are good for the soul. I got no problem if you just want to rant.

Now if you want to try again and want help....we need a lot of information from you to even have a sliver of a chance in maybe helping you.
