Feeling tired with minimal AHI

Post by Attagirl70 » Sat Jan 25, 2020 3:31 pm

Hi everyone,

The last three days or so I have been feeling absolutely crappy. During the day, my heart feels as if it's going to pound out of my chest, even though my heart rate hasn't been over 85, and I feel very fatigued. I am not falling asleep but have no energy to do anything. I feel like I need to sleep constantly but have been forcing myself to stay up and not nap. I'm not sure what has changed. I was feeling pretty decent before these last few days. I did make a quick trip from northern Indiana to Kentucky (about a 7 hour ride) over this past weekend. I can't believe just a short trip like that would just zap everything out of me for this long.

I did wean off my citalopram and haven't had that for almost 2 months now. Other medications I am on are carvedilol and pantoprazole.

I think I finally have my leaks under control at night for the most part. I am using the Dreamwear FFM. I figure if it the air isn't blowing in my eyes, my mask isn't doing the lovely farting noises, and the mask isn't in my mouth, I can live with the other leaks that may happen. lol

I did snore a bit last night but I am pretty sure I was on my back when that happened. Could that be the cause of me feeling crappy?

I have an echo scheduled for February 3rd. Fingers crossed everything there is okay.

I am attaching last night's charts here to see if someone may see something off.

As always, thanks for any advice.

How's your blood pressure?

Any change in dosage of your meds?
Are you aware that fatigue is a known side effect to your carvedilol med?

How long have you been on the pantoprazole? It can mess with magnesium levels which might make fatigue worse when taken longer than 3 months.

Are you waking up more during the night than usual?

My BP was good last week at 123/74, which was the best it has been in a long time. It has been slowly getting lower after starting therapy. It was running in the 160’s/100 to 110.

No change other than weaning off the citalopram after being on it for over 10 years.

This kind of fatigue is different than the usual beta- blocker effect.

I have been on the pantoprazole for about 5 years. Nothing was ever said about magnesium levels. I just had yearly blood work done and everything was within normal limits.

Actually, yes I have noticed a few more awakenings but I will fall right back to sleep. Usually I wake up checking the seal on my mask. If the straps were too tight, wouldn’t that increase AHI’s because I wouldn’t be getting sufficient therapy?

Your graphs dont show high leaks that would affect therapy/reduce AHI your numbers look great, i think you need to look else ware for the fatigue
