New mask: Resmed F30i

Post by ragtopcircus » Mon Jan 20, 2020 2:18 pm

Resmed's response to the Dreamwear FFM. It looks like the P30i/N30i frame with a new cushion and headgear. Unlike the regular F30, there is a wide option. Cpap.com will begin shipping them tomorrow.

Huh, interesting...my knee jerk reaction is I want one! But I'm trying to figure out if I actually do. Looks cool, I like the head hose connection, but being a Face Hoser doesn't bother me. I think I'd get this if I really wanted to practice my nasal skills. I always liked the Dreamwear but just could never get a really good seal with it, consistently. This will be great for new users who don't already have their main setup and trying to figure out their fundamentals. I'm thinking the upper straps on this one won't be digging into the ears too, hopefully.
Yay :D For no more diaphragm cramps and dozing off while driving!

The frame *looks* like the P30i/N30i, but the I don't think it's interchangeable, like the Respironics Full-face is with the pillows.

If you take a look where the frame attaches to the mask it appears to be very different than the P30i/N30i.

I wonder if they will offer a fit pack? I printed out the sizing guide, and I am not sure if I would use the SW or W cushion.

Just ordered one.
Wide mask/standard frame.

I have a p30i standard frame/large cushion.

Will report fit comparison. 8)

I tried the original Resmed F30 but I found the septum part of my nose was sore in the morning. My septum protrudes very slightly and I had to pull the straps tight to get a good seal especially if I moved around.
The pictures really don't show clearly on how the cushion touches the face. The youtube videos https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... %22f30i%22 are better.

This looks much more stable on the face. Looking forward to seeing reviews. The sizing template looks good as well. How do I get or make a sizing template?

Oh man, I just received a size exchange for the F30 today too. The hose placement seems really great. I'm allowed 1 more exchange so I may hop on this if I'm continuing to get major leaks with the F30. *Crossing my fingers*

Will follow this to continue to hear about sizing differences :)

Edit: I found this ResMed tutorial on sizing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDrs3r8j4Kw

You can print the size template here:

Looks like Medium cushion for me

but the frame sizing doesn't make sense as its just tells you how it should look not which size fits for you.
IE They don't tell you to measure your head in some way and then look it up on a chart.

Likewise, if anyone else can chime in. I figured out the Cushion Size but I have 0 clue what the Frame Size should be. Have never ordered this type of mask before. I just know I have a small nose (Size S) and a big head but not sure if it's a Size L

Edit: BTW, is there a way to pin threads that you want to follow besides bookmarking them? Sorry this is real newbie

There was before the software was upgraded, and it was clumsy.

In my browser, I just set up a bookmark subfolder titled "Apnea". Easy peasy.

What is the difference between bookmarking and subscribing?
In phpBB 3.0, bookmarking topics worked much like bookmarking in a web browser. You were not alerted when there was an update. As of phpBB 3.1, bookmarking is more like subscribing to a topic. You can be notified when a bookmarked topic is updated. Subscribing, however, will notify you when there is an update to a topic or forum on the board. Notification options for bookmarks and subscriptions can be configured in the User Control Panel, under “Board preferences”.

How do I bookmark or subscribe to specific topics?
You can bookmark or subscribe to a specific topic by clicking the appropriate link in the “Topic tools” menu, conveniently located near the top and bottom of a topic discussion.
Replying to a topic with the “Notify me when a reply is posted” option checked will also subscribe you to the topic.

This is exactly what I was looking for! THANK YOU PUGSY! I've been bookmarking them into Google Chrome and checking manually 2x a day. This saves me so much time. Appreciate it

I am going to order a F30i in a couple of months to try out.

Pugsy, is there still no way to donate and become a member of this forum? Is there still no way to Like a post?

Since this forum is sponsored by a corporate entity cpap.com....they don't solicit donations. Might be some legal stuff there that is beyond my knowledge.

And no...still no way to "like" a post or thread or whatever.

The fact that you can post here though....means you are a member.
