new nasal mask Question

Post by yulcdn » Wed Jan 08, 2020 4:28 pm

I am a long time CPAP users and continually score over 95 on my Resmed 10 machine. I also track once a month on Oscar. I use to use Wisp nasal mask . About 2 years I began using Dreamwear nasal pillows replacing them on the Medicare Schedule. So everything is good...but should I be trying a different mask as new nasal masks have come to market since I first got my Dreamwear. Do you have any suggestions?

It all depends on how you feel about experimenting with something new as new masks get released.
I like to try new things just for the sake of trying them but other people don't care for experimenting just for the sake of experimenting.
It's personal preference or choice really.

Are you totally happy with the DreamWear nasal pillow mask system or is there some little something about it that you feel if you could change it would be a better mask for you?

Do you like to try new things just to be trying new things?

I have tried many, many masks. Sometimes the only thing I learn from them is what a bad idea it was to try it.
But I always learn something even if all I learn is what a stupid idea that was.
When I try different things I always learn about my own personal preferences, wants, and needs....so even a failed experiment yields information.
Unfortunately mask experimenting isn't cheap.....ask your DME if they still offer a mask swapping time frame if you try something new and end up hating it. My DME allows 60 days (which is very generous) for me to try something new and if I hate it I can swap it for something I know I like. You don't want to waste your complete mask allowance on a mask you might end up hating.
