High bi-PaP with severe dry mouth

Post by dalapa » Wed Jan 01, 2020 8:31 pm

My doctor increased my level from 10 to 22 with an exhale of 19. I wake up every morning with severe cotton mouth. Any suggestions. My gums are getting very irritated due to the dryness.

Here is what I found helped:
a) Avoiding mask leaks. This was crucial for me.
b) Upping the humidifier settings
c) Being well hydrated in general.
d) Using a mouth guard can make you (at least it did me) produce more saliva.
e) Consider something like biotene spray right before bed
f) Keep water (with a straw) by the bed.

You should fill out your equipment profile, including mask.

I use a nasal pillow type mask mostly, and the only time I get that symptom is when I have mouth leaks. So that's the first place I'd look.
