My Dreamstation with humidifier in the middle of the night it starts gurling wakes me up water starts flowing into my full face mask. I dissconect the hose & put it toward the ground water pours out of it. I reconnect hose go to sleep then in about 2-3 hours it starts again.. Question: Is the machine configured wrong.

Possible causes...1. Humidity set too high, lower the setting.....2. Condensation forming because of cool room and warm air in hose...Get a heated hose or cover the hose to insulate it....3. Lower the machine below mattress level so water runs back to the humidifier. and try a hose hanger.

Agree with LSAT. The problem you're experiencing is called "rainout." You can search the forum for that term. I've had it too although not to the extent you describe (water running iut of the hose?) But the gurgling sound in the hose and water in the mask (I use full face mask) has woken me up a few times. Solved the problem by adjusting the humidity level and lowering the machine.

Make sure you dry the hose completey before using it again - tonight I pressume - or there will still be residual water in it that will bug you. I used to wash my hose, don't feel the need to anymore, but when I did it would never be fully dry by nighttime. i found that hooking it up to the machine, turning it on, and just leaving it run for 10-15 min will dry it out. No need to remove the mask, just put it on the bed, laeve it be, and it will dry. Won't hurt anything to have the machine run and blow air for a little while.

Why don't you lift the hose and let the water run back into the tank?

Then put the machine lower, or turn down the humidity.

There's usually a little water in the hose, so this isn't really necessary.
