Cheapest place to buy NEW Philips Respironics DreamStation Auto CPAP

Post by CyclonePap » Wed Oct 30, 2019 7:00 am

I can find it for 699. Was wondering if there's somewhere cheaper that comes with a warranty. Dont want to buy used unless it comes with a warranty. Thanks in advance.

Second Wind CPAP

https://www.secondwindcpap.com

They sell second hand and occasionally still factory sealed units, with warranties. They only accept gently used, low hour machines.

Sistemmacpap sells them for $599 new with humidifier. You can sometimes get even a bit lower than that from cpap.com if you wait for one of their frequent promos or check a coupon site.

Since a lot of people start with Dreamstations before switching to Resmed, you might be able to find one used with low hours for a great price.

Currently $560 new, with humidifier, at cpap.com using promo code SPOOKY19. I think the shipping is free too.

Why do people switch to Resmed?

1) Resmed’s auto algorithm responds more dynamically to changes in your breathing. Dreamstations respond more slowly, sometimes overshoot, and then take too long to drop again.
2) Resmed’s EPR is, for many people, better than the Dreamstation Flex. It can reduce the pressure a little more (selectable), reduces it for longer, and does a better job of matching the timing to your breathing. It feels more natural. It also helps more with breathing through nasal congestion.
3) Personally, I find the Resmed user interface more convenient.

In a nutshell, I get better results with Resmed. My numbers are lower on average, because it does a better job of adapting to my breathing during sleep. I can feel the difference in the morning.

Resmed, Philips Respironics, and maybe some Devilbiss machines are probably the top three. The Dreamstation isn’t junk, but for many a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset, Airsense 10 For Her, or Aircurve 10 Vauto will provide better results.

Personally, I think the Vauto is a fantastic machine, but they are a lot easier to buy used instead of new, and more than many people need. For most people, the Autoset is enough. The For Her does everything the Autoset does, but also offers a special mode for women (and men) that is a little more focused on treating Upper Airway Restriction.

Resmed does make some very inexpensive machines known as “bricks” that are no better than a Dreamstation, but an Autoset is definitely a step up for most.

I agree with everything you've said... just a bit of confirmation for the newbie.

Well I can't speak for everybody, but:
  1. For ResMed's patented Overshoot Technology
  2. LSAT only sells ResMeds
  3. Chicks dig guys who use the AutoSet for Her
  4. ResMed is way easier to type than Philips Respironics
  5. The tickling sensation from ResMed's FOT apnea detection algorithm, feels good
  6. The vines on the AutoSet for Her matches my curtains
  7. Because D.H. doesn't use one
  8. So we can irritate palerider, by referring to them as BiPAPs, S10s and AirSet 10 AutoSense

For me, it’s Respironics that overshoots. By responding more quickly, Resmed seems to nip it in the bud, so to speak, and rarely (if ever) needs to go as high as Respironics.

I LIKE the vines, but I had to give my “For Her” to ... Her ... to replace her Respironics System One Auto. Oh well.

Well, this is true, but you see, some people willfully misinterpret studies in their desperation to find something to bash Resmeds with.

Go figure.

Work a deal to swap faceplates with some whose masculinity is challenged by the vines.

 Well, I did work a deal for another vine faceplate, but it came with another machine behind it. This For Her will stay at my house for Her so she won’t have to bring the other one back every weekend (once we get her dialed in). Right now, we’re still nudging the max up very slowly because of aerophagia, but she’s already doing much better than on her Respironics.

Which one of these is the cheaper one and where could I find one either new with a warranty or slightly used with a warranty? Thank you. I appreciate your help. Dont want to get another "brick"
