Can't seem to get data imported any more

Post by aspen » Mon Oct 28, 2019 6:53 am

It's been a couple of months since I've checked my useage. I've never had a problem. Wondered whether it was Sleepyhead, but I've downloaded Oscar and same thing.

I hit import, it recognizes and reads the card. It requests a file, I point to my sleepyhead file and the data isn't captured. Whether I do it first or while downloading.

I've been having significant mask leaks and would like to figure out what I'm doing wrong trying to import. Likely something stupid .. . I've searched here but apparently with the wrong combination of words.

Thank you!

Take the SD Card out, make sure you don't have the SD Card Lock on, put it back in...
Unplug the XPAP for 5 minutes, plug it back in, if you don't have data tomorrow AFTER 2 PM, try New SD card, rinse and repeat. Good Luck. Jim

As far as using Sleepyhead or Oscar, I don't know how they import, I use Encore for my old tanks.
Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!

Create a new profile, try importing with that.

not sure if this answers your question as I am brand new but I found out that simply locking the SD card before putting in your computer and unlocking when putting in CPAP machine worked for me.

Are you sure?? I tried several things which didn't work but this simple fix has it working like a charm. Weird - I'm jut happy it's working. From what I understand there are some "bugs" with the software and this(or something similar) seems to be an ongoing issue based on the research I did. I think someone had a similar answer in this very thread so not sure what is going on??

Locking the SD card is something that that only the S9 model machine users need to do.
ResMed AirSense/AirCurve 10 users no longer need to do this.
The reason behind this caution for S9 model users is that some operating systems write a little text file to the SD card when it is inserted into the computer and when you put the SD card back into the S9 machine the machine doesn't like that little text file being on the SD card. It will reject the card and tell a person it is invalid and the only choice the machine gives is to erase the entire SD Card.
The software ResScan/OSCAR/SleepyHead don't care about that little text file being on the SD card...only the S9 machine cares.

I am using an AirSense/AirCurve machine and using Windows 10 (one of the operating systems that puts that little text file on the SD card) and I never lock the SD card and things download just fine.
Now back when I was using a S9...I had first had experience with erasing the SD card because I was always forgetting to lock it.

I am not sure why the OP here is having problems. It's possible the SD card is broken....it's possible that the machine has quit writing to the SD card....several possibilities but locking the card won't fix her problem. That I am 99.9999999999% sure of.

Oh....Respironics or other brand machine users....you have never needed to lock the card. The only model machine that has this little problem is the ResMed S9 model.

The interesting thing is that prior to locking and unlocking it was randomly working and not working until I tried the lock-unlock thing for the heck of it which seemed to do the trick - it's a very small sample size so who knows? Could be coincidence I suppose but I'm hoping it doesn't start not working for me again.

Using OSCAR????? There's a little bug in OSCAR that will only allow one download per 24 hour period. If a person downloads more than once within that 24 hour period they won't get the second or third set of data. It will appear that there is no new data to download.
Often newbies pull the card and download after the least little sleep session....and OSCAR simply won't show more than 1 session.
It's a bug that should be gone on the next version and there is a work around for that problem in today's version if someone wants to do it.
SleepyHead doesn't have this bug...and since OP says same problem with SH then I doubt she is having that bug as being her problem.

Yes - using Oscar, could it be a work around for multiple downloads or was it just blind luck that I happened to download at the proper time  I hope I'm not muddying the waters. Again I'm new and figuring this out as I go. I will step aside and let the experts take it from here lol

There is a way of purging all the old data and then downloading/importing again and the old missing data should be there....under Data/Advanced in the top OSCAR menu
Or....my easy way....create a new profile and import to it.
You can always delete the old profile once you see the newly created profile has what you want in it.
Profiles can be found in the OSCAR folder in MyDocuments under the Profile folder. Manually delete any unwanted profiles.

Yes, the Autoset doesn't care about the little ones files some operating systems like to hide on the card, the only machines that cared about that were the Resmed s9 series.

There are bugs in Oscar, but they have nothing to do with this. Oscar doesn't write to your card.
