Recommend a mask!
For many years I've been using the respironics easylife (nasal mask)
I briefly tried a inside nose mask and hated it. I've tried full face mask and hated it.
Looking for another nasal mask.
I'm looking for something that is lighter and popular I guess, I know it's subjective but what's considered *better than most*?

Here is a relatively new design. It's lightweight and comfortable. Note the attachment point of the hose. It doesn't pull on the mask. It attaches to a very stable point. This eliminates a common cause of mask leak - hose pull.

I am currently using Resmed F30i. I love it. So far the perfect nasal mask for me. I have tried dreamwear nasal & nasal pillows, but Resmed's version fits me better.

I love the dreamwear as well. For better succes with this mask, use the smaller frame you can. If the frame is too large, the frame slip back of your head and the cushion make pressure under the nose that can lead to pain and leaks. This mask is so easy to use. Great one.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 1:03 pmHere is a relatively new design. It's lightweight and comfortable. Note the attachment point of the hose. It doesn't pull on the mask. I believe you mean N30i as the F30i is the fullface version ...and one problem I got with de full face version is the largest model is medium...As for the N30i, many people like the one size stretch tube adjustement over dreamwear many size frame. There's also the new resmed N30 ....maybe I'll try it.

Re: Recommend a mask!
actually, the F30i does not exist.. except in my dreams. Yes, I meant I am using the N30i with chin strap. I am HOPING the F30i WILL be invented next. The F30 is their newest full face mask which came out last year & also fit me very well, but I prefer the hose on my head. Resmed just launched their newest nasal mask N30. I am not bothering to try it because the hose is on the nose. Some people have had trouble with the N30i because the cushion has hard plastic sides. For me and my face, I do not feel the hard sides of the cushion and I am primarily a side sleeper. Like all masks, one size, model, brand does not fit all, but I have discovered that Resmed masks fit me better than Phillips masks. I have not tried any other brands because I don't think it's necessary since my primary want/need is to have the hose on top of my head & as little on my face as possible.

Ah, yes.
The endless quest fot the perfect mask.
And then it gets discontinued, and we have to start over.
why do they do that to us?

So no pillow or full face masks.Ruinednose wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 8:23 amFor many years I've been using the respironics easylife (nasal mask)

Then either a cushion (Dreamwear or the new Resmed Airfit N30), or the completely different Bleep?

Re: Recommend a mask!
or N30i if you prefer the hose on the head. I kept getting strangled in my hose when I had my F30 and other "hose on the nose" models, F20 & Quattro. Discovered with standard full face masks that I didn't care for my nose being covered. And they leaked too. Had to go back to Dreamwear FF, deciding I needed the small frame instead of medium hoping it would help. The small frame was a better fit, but I still could not stop the leaking. That's when I switched to the Dreamwear nasal, small frame, small cushion, but that leaked too, so tried the Dreamwear pillows. The pillows didn't leak, great seal, and I thought I finally found MY MASK, but they eventually started to hurt my nostrils to the point they bled creating sores & scabs, so not comfortable. So pillow style is not my thing. Now have the N30i small frame, small cushion, very comfortable, doesn't leak, so here is where I stop. I use a chin strap when wearing a nasal mask which I am comfortable with, so not going back to full face again if I can help it.

Re: Recommend a mask!
I haven't tried the Bleep, but it is off my list because it is a hose nose model, but a lot of people love it & based on the comments & reviews I have seen, it is worth trying.
