FF Face Breakout

Post by greenham » Sun Feb 25, 2007 7:21 pm

2 months now, and you guys have made this new world understandable, bearable and dare I say pleasant.

I use a FP 431 FF mask. As a 43yo male acne has long been an unpleasant memory of puberty

Now I find that my mask is causing my face to break out right where my mask rides on my face. I use an alcohol wipe every night to wipe down the gasket to remove the face oil. Once a week I give the whole mask a vinegar and water bath..

Any other ideas/ solutions

I was my "gasket" daily with Ivory dish soap in warm water ,rinse it and let air dry.Wash my face prior to bed. This method works great for me.

One of the biggest disappointments in my life was the discovery that being old enough to get wrinkles does NOT mean you won't ever have pimples again...

But seriously, I'm not an expert at mask washing but I think that using alcohol on the mask is bad for it.

I've always suspected that it's a combination of the humidity and the silicone causing the skin to break out in a kind of "heat rash". Your dermatologist might prescribe a cortisone cream to be used during the day.

You might try Ivory baby shampoo, thats what I use, give it a try, and it wont break the bank.
