hi kekeo, welcome to the forum. you will find lots of information if you click on the lightbulb on the top of the page. also fill out you're profile please so people can see what type of equipment you use. to answer your question, its different for everyone. it took me about three months to feel better and make up my sleep deficit. just hang in there and don't give up. pat

Hi Keko,

Welcome to the forum!

It all varies from person to person. Sometimes it's in a matter of "weeks", but mostly in "months".

If you'd care to fill out your profile and/or list your equipment, your pressure and anything else you can think of......that would help us.

Best wishes,

Gidday KeKo,

Welcome! You're in the right place to get good advice and encouragement which is just as important. The main thing is to not get discouraged and chuck it in. If you stick it out, you'll learn what you need to know and be feeling better soon.

Good luck

keko,

Are you sleeping through the night?

How does the mask work? Are you comfortable with the fit?

Do you use your cpap every night?

I experienced almost instant relief when I started therapy in March of last year. I felt, still feel, like a changed person.

But everyone experiences different results. Can you comment on any specific concerns you might have about your therapy? Because you might get some great suggestions, from the complicated (what's the best mask?), to truly inventive (thanks to whoever suggested the scrunchie for managing the hose) and improved performance (made a great hose cover from polar fleece to control rain out).

Good luck and don't give up.

Welcome Keko,
You are in the right place with a great group of informed and helpful people here to answer your questions. Relax, take you time and realize your sleep deficit probably built up gradually over months and years. (Very sneaky it was) It may take some time to make up the deficit. Keep asking questions about any of you concerns (both here and of your doc and DME) If your mask isn't right (leaks, size, comfort) stay on the DME until they get it right for you. Some adjust quickly, some take much longer. Persistence on your part and a good attitude is key.......you are on the right track. I am 4 mos out and good slumber is on the way for you. Don't give up.
Good Luck
Carol
