Need a little reassurance....
Need a little reassurance....
This forum has been a wonderful resource not only for me but all of those who have been helped by the wonderful people within it!!! I changed from CPAP to APAP about 10 a week ago, and it has been a great help in my sleep apnea adventure. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea (11) in June, 2019. I started using CPAP 6/24/19. I have had struggles with leaks, masks, etc. My highest AHI was 1.9. Since going to APAP, I have had 4 days of AHI of 0, one each of .11, .12, &.13. Does this indicate I have made my goal of having my apnea's under control? I am feeling much better, have more energy and am not tired as before.

I'd say the "proof is in the pudding!" Basically, based on what you have said...it sure sounds like you have things under control.

Re: Need a little reassurance....
The new numbers are good. The old numbers were within the "acceptable" range.
Now that the numbers are good, how do you feel?

Re: Need a little reassurance....
I am feeling much better this week than in the past few months! I am sleeping much better and wake up rested. I have other medical issues that I am dealing with too, so hopefully my sleep apnea is now under control & will help with my recuperating from pneumonia, lung infection. I had a cerebral stroke on 12/31/18 and am still recovering from some of the side effects.

Re: Need a little reassurance....
My CPAP was a godsend with bronchitis and pneumonia. The only time I didn't cough was when using the CPAP. So I hope this speeds you along in your recovery.

Congratulations, gryhnd! Your numbers are great, and the real news is that you are feeling much better. Now just settle into the routine and don’t stress if you have the occasional lousy night. Best of luck with your other health issues.
