6.4 and 3.4 AHI, respectively at presure of about 12

Post by TonyExecutiveDrive » Thu Aug 15, 2019 6:12 am

I increased the pressure of my machine to about 12and woke up with the highest AHI (6.4) since I started this therapy 4 months ago. what gives? any suggestions, please?

minimum prescribed pressure is 5 and I just increased it to 12.5. I was expecting an AHI near zero or 1 but the higher AHI is not encouraging.

What indication did you have where you determined that your minimum needed to go to 12 ? Higher is not always better... Need to know what kind of events you were having. Shooting for zero AHI is not realistic.

once I get home today after work, i will post last night's report. The reason I increased the pressure was that I was feeling sleepy at work while I was being compliant. please see my other posting and the charts that I posted. so increasing my pressure minimum from 5 to about 12 now was to see if there was any gains from an increased minimum. so the increase was a result of experimentation to see if i could go a full day of work without passing out sleeping at work meetings. again, i will be posting last night's data in about 5 hrs.

Remember waking up very many times?

People are encourage to keep a single therapy topic.

This way all the relevant and historical date is in one place and those helping don't have to waste all kinds of time searching through multiple threads to help.

You should probable pick a single topic, and use only that topic for all your therapy questions.

You posted one report from Jan ....that old of a report doesn't mean much.

More pressure isn't always the answer to problems .

Pugsy,

I Will maintain this thread for future questions.
To your your question, I slept thru all night for 8 hrs 14 min straight and AHI is 3.4, which is 3 AHI down from my all time high of 6.4 yesterday(all time hi low pressure setting of 11.8). If anything looking thru my history, this increase of my pressure minimum from 5 to now 11.8 is not helping to keep me fully awake at work, which is my problem. Now at work, I am having my 3rd cup of coffee in order to remain awake. Am detecting that my sleep target could be somewhat around 7hr plus. 8hr of sleep hasn't kept me awake at work. Is there a way to use the chart (to be posted in about 4 hrs from now) to figure out the sweet spot to set the pressure to guarantee myself a sleepiness work day?

Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what?

You don't seem to understand that even the best most perfect AHI of 0.0 doesn't necessarily guarantee that we don't get sleepy the next day even with 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

I can't tell any sort of "sweet spot" from a report with 11 something minimum.
I need to see a report where the minimum was 5 or 6 and the maximum whatever. The only report I have seen is a fixed cpap mode report from back in January.

Way too big of a jump from 5 min to be able to learn much of anything.

I need to see what kind of events you had with the AHI of 6 something.

So I want to see that detailed report with AHI of 6something and the report with AHI of 3something.

Pugsy, I am encouraged by your help. The result I will post this afternoon will show pressure settings of 5 to max since I started this therapy in April. I think anything that shows January is a filler by the machine. The report will also show pressure at 6 to max. Otherwise I will run another tonite from pressure of 6 to max.

I don't want old report details...I want recent report details.

Only need 2 detailed reports right now...last night and a recent one that showed the 3 ish AHI.

The report I posted earlier are my most report minus one from last night. That one as the low at 5 the entire tim I have been in this since April. Would that work for the pressure at 5 ? I think anything about January on that report is what the machine put in since I didn't get the machine till April after March 29 diagnosis or you want me to post fresh new reports for 5 and 6 tonite and tomorrow?

The only detailed report I have seen is the Jan report and it was a fixed pressure report...cpap mode with pressure at 10 something.

What other detailed reports have you posted?.... We need the software detailed reports and not just the summary numbers. The numbers don't help me at all.

We need to see the detailed software reports...not just the summary AHI numbers.

ok. are those charts I posted that has January in it a type of detail you need or what can I do post the right one? what do I need to do in the software to harvest the right one this afternoon? You have mentioned the January report couple of times now. Is it possible that my machine and the memory card are both used before it was delivered to me because I started using the machine in April since I was diagnosed in march?
