I had a Respironics Dreamstation Auto for a month these are my thoughts. However I settled on a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset as the way it ramped pressures suited me alot better than the Respironics.
Both can communicate with doctors . I personally don't bother with the apps and use sleepyhead to track my progress however it's not a mobile app.
Pros. The humidifier and heat settings are easier to dial in personally. Dreamstation app shows more stats than the Resmed MyAir however it still lacks the granular details you get from OSCAR/Sleepyhead
Cons. The Respironics was way too gentle in terms on trying to prevent apnea. Screen blinds you when it’s dark
Resmed Pros. SmartStart/Stop put on mask and breathe = start Take off mask = stop The more aggressive means the pressure ramps in a much shorter time which for me benefits as my apneas come on suddenly vs a slow onset. Included travelcase has some throught put into it.
Resmed Cons. MyAir extremely brief in terms of data. It will show you how you’re doing overall AHI/sleeptime/"leaks" but it won't even show you pressures...

I've only tried the ResMed Auto Sense. My first Machine was an earlier model of the Philips, known as the System One. I'm sure the Dreamstation has some improvements over the System One, so I can only speak to the current ResMed in comparison with the System One.

Personally I really like the ResMed algorithm. It's smooth and gentle and I don't feel like I have to breathe to the ResMed's rhythm, it follows mine much more comfortably. It's quiet and easy to use and dial in what settings I want. The humidifier actually heats air (even when my S1 worked --humidifier died after 3 years--it was always ICE cold). I always felt like I was struggling against the SI, while the ResMed feels comforting.

Both were equally effective in treating my severe OSA. My AHI is usually 0.2 -0.3 on both machines.

Hopefully they've eliminated the stupid "beep" when you turn on the Philips machine by now. Yes, the Resmed screen does light up when you first turn it on--but that's much less disruptive to my partner's sleep because it's SILENT.

My recommendation is the ResMed for sure, but keep in mind I'm comparing to an older Philips machine. In any case, whichever one you choose should do a good job treating your apnea.

I have a Dreamstation (from 2017) and think it's just dandy. I kinda count myself lucky to have been started with that type of APAP. It doesn't beep at all when using the dial, either turning or clicking for settings and information, also no beep when starting / stopping pressure. I don't know if it's too gentle or not but I never use ramp, think flex is on 3 and have no issues on exhalation. The pressure is a little high for the first 10 seconds or so but it adjusts and levels out and is never a bother to me at all really. Doc had to make one adjustment a month after I started, he raised my pressure from 15 to 20 and no problem since then. I'm not sure about the auto stop, it's never auto stopped for me when blowing just straight air without wearing the mask and I don't wait for it to auto start either, it takes too long, I like to let her rip and climb into bed.

This is my only apap / cpap machine since starting therapy and nothing to compare it to. I can't imagine having one set pressure, my pressure fluctuates from one night to the next.
