Last Friday I had an appointment with the sleep therapy clinic to see how I was doing. I asked them for a large nose mask, as they had given me a small to start off with (lasted one night) and then a medium. I still felt like it wasn’t right. First night with large nose mask, AHA less than 2!!!! Woo hoooo! Maybe I am finally getting the hang of this thing- so to any newbies out there, enjoy this forum as I have (and will continue to do) and hang in there. It won’t happen overnight but it will happen....
Hooray!
Hooray!
Thought that tag line would get you.... after lugging my new cpap machine all over the world for five weeks ( was diagnosed and got the machine 2 weeks before my big holiday and told I HAD to take it with me...) consequently my stats were all over the place. different temperatures, humidity etc etc, only staying in one place four nights at the most, and not ‘in tune’ with the whole deal of my diagnosis, it was a bit of a nightmare. Some nights I couldn’t even put it on (ahem, may have had something to do with over consumption of alcohol...maybe), other nights I would wake up feeling like I was drowning from rainout, to tear the thing off my face. Back home, got my humidity and temperature under control and started having good nights - AHI down from diagnosed 18 per hour to 4 - 5 per hour, and although still not feeling like I was going to burst with energy, certainly felt sharper during the work day.

Congratulations! It does take varying times for people to feel better using CPAP, glad that you hit that point for yourself.
Keep it up.

Re: Hooray!
Did they use that measurement they put under your nose? I measured small but it blows right off and leaks so now you make me want to just try a large tonight!

So jelly of your AHI’s.

Re: Hooray!
You don't have your equipment listed in your profile. What mask did they give you ? I measured right on the line between a small and a medium. Turned out medium was too big. I did much better when I went to the "for her" small size.

I’m now using a FFM Dreamwear because I couldn’t get the nasal from leaking. I never heard of a “for her”. I’ll be looking for that next. I like the idea of just a nasal.babydinosnoreless wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:04 pmYou don't have your equipment listed in your profile. What mask did they give you ? Re: Hooray!
Becksta, what a way to start! They wanted me to start using a machine while I was going to be on a trip with lots of time changes, different hotels, etc., and I completely chickened out and said no. You’re much more brave than I was!
It’s good to hear you’re starting to feel better and plugging away at pesky problems. Keep us posted!

Re: Hooray!
Taking your new "companion" along on all travels helps convince it that it is now "family".
Less than a week after delivery, I took my first cpap along to a professional conference.
First time in years I was awake for all the workshops.
