Variables
Variables
Hi everybody!
Trying to make a list of all the variables which might affect the therapy... What have your experiences been so far?
So far:
- Bed size
- Related to bed size: Sleeping position
- Bed softness
- Pillow height
- Food during the day (allergies)
- Last eating time
- Alcohol (even 1 beer 5h before sleeping will double my AHI)
- Altitude (yes, everybody is saying it shouldn't be playing a role, I've still notice huge differences for myself!)
- Sports
- Sleeping hygiene (time, regularity, 8h per night minimum for me)
- Mouth breathing
What are your thoughts? What's missing?

Re: Variables
If you're using a range of pressures, your whole night is a variable because your pressures may be changing based on many of those factors you have listed. Actually, some of those you have listed would be "constants" from night to night......like bed and pillow characteristics, alcohol intake (just don't consume any) and altitude.Shnorky wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 7:25 amHi everybody!

From my perspective, the fewer "variables" I have, the easier it is to figure out what may or may not affect my numbers and to keep them in a narrower range.

Re: Variables
Muse-Inc thank you, also good points. They're now on the list
The others, you're right of course. And that's what I'd like to get to, where most of what can influence the therapy will be as constant as possible, and as optimized towards a low AHI as possible. As I'm still a newb, and you are all experienced, you probably have more insight into things I don't even know about.
