Have anyone tried power the Z1 with 16V battery?

the Z1 is rated to work from 12v to 15v, but i have a powerbank that can output 16V@3A and 19V@3A.
tempted to try to run it at 16V while camping...but afraid would fried it. any idea?

not sure if this will contain what you need, but check here-

in any event, capnloki is our resident expert on batteries. i'm sure he'll see this thread and give more guidance.

good luck!

Might try to Google for: how to add a diode to reduce voltage. Might help you. Jim

It's kind of a Down and Dirty way, to do it! The diode would need to be rated twice the draw of the load, and even twice the voltage also. The junction creates a voltage drop. Silicon Diodes I think are !.4 Volt drop. Circuit will need to be under oad to read the true working voltage.

I tied Added turn signals to tail lights, had to use diodes to taillight wires to keep the both sides of the bulbs from turning each other on. It dimmed them by 1.4 Volts. Used Diodes out of a Alt, overkill!
