AHI/frequent waking
My clinic set my machine after the first month at 8-12 cmH2O. Since then I have had maybe a couple dozen AHI readings under 10. Most are in the teens. Also I wake up after most dreams, probably 4-6 times a night. Sometimes a little less. Hav a appt at the clinic the 30th. Wonder if I should bump it up?
Re: AHI/frequent waking
Hard to tell what to set the pressures to without data. You could start with raising the max pressure to 20...that can only help AHI. Don't know about wake-ups without data.

Re: AHI/frequent waking
are you using software to track your data? that is, either sleepyhead or oscar? please see my sig for download of sleepyhead. someone else will have to supply the oscar link.midnightprowler1960 wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 7:26 amMy clinic set my machine after the first month at 8-12 cmH2O. these are real software programs, not data apps. what you can do is screen grab of the charts it produces and then post them here for perusal. several people here can make suggestions on how to get your settings optimized.
without the data, it's guesswork.
oh! also, see-

Re: AHI/frequent waking
Maybe you're sensitive to pressure changes. (some of us on the forum are) You could try a fixed/straight pressure for awhile and see how that goes. Just because you HAVE an APAP doesn't necessarily mean you have to use it in a range of pressures.midnightprowler1960 wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 7:26 amMy clinic set my machine after the first month at 8-12 cmH2O. Sounds like you're getting bumped out of the deep sleep stages and into lighter ones. (REM is not a deep sleep stage, but we can dream in any sleep stage)
Are you using software to monitor your therapy or just using the information from the LCD?
Never mind.......I just read your previous post.

Re: AHI/frequent waking
Palerider, I think midnightprowler was just worrying about whether she or he had the tech chops needed to use Sleepyhead.
Midnightprowler, if you have a laptop, give it a try. I’m not very tech-savvy myself, but I managed to use SH (and now Oscar), and I rely on the information heavily.
Plan B would be to ask a tech-savvy friend or relative for help. Once you got the software downloaded and saw how to import your nightly data into it, I think you’d find it easy to continue on your own.
Waking up after dreams is pretty normal, but an AHI that is in the teens isn’t. If you can’t deal with SH, can you get an earlier appointment at the clinic? Your settings just aren’t working for you, and someone needs to look at what kinds of events you’re having and make changes in light of that information.

Re: AHI/frequent waking
When I started last December I was at a steady 8. I improved from my sleep study, but not enough. They set it up for the variable 8-12. I may try to go back in early. I have had the frequent waking since the beginning.Wulfman... wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 2:52 pmMaybe you're sensitive to pressure changes. Re: AHI/frequent waking
Could you check whether you have the right machine in your profile? I followed the link for the one you have there, and it is fixed pressure only, which doesn’t fit with your reference to a pressure range. For what it’s worth, the one you have listed comes with an SD card, which suggests you could use SH or Oscar.

Yes it is correct, the clinic made some adjustment and now it starts ramp up at 4 for 10 minutes, then goes to 8 and as high as 12. It has a sd card.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 5:43 pmCould you check whether you have the right machine in your profile? It's the one listed hoser. Just stay off my threads. I bought it, I was there when they set it up you were not. Besides I thought you were ignoring me.
