Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for her shutting down on its own..

Post by jimbud » Wed May 01, 2019 10:06 am

I have a 4 month old Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for Her. I use a Resmed P10 pillow mask.
Last night after aprox. 2.5 hours of laying awake,my machine shut off (on its own) no leaks just shut down.
I have it set on smartstart.
After noticing I was having trouble getting enough air through the vent holes I raised up and took a few strong breaths and the machine started back up. This phenomenon has happened a couple of times in the past month or so.

My questions : Has anyone had this happen to them.
If so, were you able to remedy this.
How did you do that.

For now I have disabled smartstart to see if there is a glitch in it.

Were you maybe breathing too shallowly for the machine to detect? If it doesn't happen again, I'd say it's a one off. If it keeps happening, maybe you're mouth-breathing or there's a machine issue.

If there is a large enough leak, the machine thinks you have taken off the mask. (Could even be some mouth breathing or the fact that you were awake). Some machines seem to be more sensitive than others. As you have done...just turn it off. How much trouble is it to press a button?

Thanks LSAT.
No leak.
No mouth breathing.
You are probably right about the sensitive thing.
It will take off like a rocket even if I am awake, if it spots a couple of SWJ hypopneas.

Thanks for the reply. Missed it at first.
I was very relaxed and most likely breathing shallowly when this happened.
Did not know machine would/could shut down from shallow breathing.
Sleepyhead detected breathing. Rough definitely slow shallow awake breathing.
Probably something with machine. I will try a few things to try and eliminate possibilities or solve issue.
Thank you again for the reply.

That does not cause the machine to shut off. The only reason it will shut off is, a truly epic leak.. (mask off), a power glitch, or a fault in the machine.

Thanks for the information.
Thank you for the second bit of information also. I did not think so. Common sense.

My vpap auto won't even shut off if you use a p10 and set it to FFM... it says "NOPE! that leak isn't big enough! not turning of" hehe.
