Re: My AHI after 8 days
Welcome to the forum.
Please read the top thread in the announcements section “newbies please read”. In that thread is a link to another thread for how to format the SH reports....like turning off the calendar and pie chart so the statistics on the left side can be seen.
To lower the obstructive events (OAs and hyponeas) you probably need a little more minimum pressure. Hard to say how much since I can’t see the statistics but probably 1 or 2 cm more minimum. Give the machine a better head start on holding the airway open and preventing collapse instead trying to fix it after the fact.

Re: My AHI after 8 days
Thank you Pugsy for your advice.
This is the data from yesterday: This is the statistics from yesterday:
And here the results from today and as you suggested it, I increased the pressure to 10:
From 1:15 to 2 I slept on my back. Becouse I woke up at this position and it took about an hour to go to sleep again. It seems to me that the result is worse because I sometimes sleeping on my back. How to force myself to sleep on the side?
Btw. A sad truth about the treatment of apnea in Poland. I was diagnosed about a month ago, my AHI was 30. Since then I have been prescribed a cpap device for treatment and as the doctor said we will see each other in half a year
. And I can't do anything about it because it's the only specialist in my city. He did not write me any card with information about the pressure I need to have, because, as he said, autocapap will set the pressure for me. Literally leave me at my own with all this thing. Finally at my home I checked the setting the minimum pressure setting was 4 and max 10.50. Which was not a cure for me (my AHI was 18) as I read from this forum and when I rised my pressure setings my score getting better. That's why I am asking you for help and advice.

Re: My AHI after 8 days
Staying on one's side is easier said than done. Been down that road myself. My OSA isn't particularly worse when supine like a lot of people, but when I end up on my back my poor old messed up back starts hurting really bad and that wakes me up often.
I have had the best luck using a special heavy buckwheat hull bed pillow as a prop up against my back to help me stay on my side. Even then it isn't always perfect. Anything else would just slide out from under me and end up on the floor. I don't believe in doing the old tennis balls in the night shirt trick so that when you roll over onto the tennis balls the pain wakes you up so you turn back on your side.
I have enough back pain messing with my sleep as it is...I sure don't want more.
Plus I have a friend who tried it out of desperation and put 18 tennis balls in a back pain to keep her on her side. She woke up the next morning flat on her back laying on that back pack and from the looks of the report had pretty much spent the majority of the night that way. It doesn't always work for any number of reasons.
Your last night.....did you spend much time awake with mask and machine on? If you did....any idea why?
I think you need even more minimum but if you spent much time awake then some of those events might be awake breathing irregularities flagged by mistake and very many false positives clouds the evaluation process.

Omit the Respiration Rate graph and just make the other graphs above it a bit larger. No need to redo these images though. I mention it for future reference.
Also turn off the pie chart....File/Preferences/Appearance tab...remove check mark for "show pie chart". It's hiding potentially useful statistics and the pie chart itself is pretty much useless.
April 6 night is fairly decent in terms of numbers
The nights with higher AHI almost always the higher number is the clear airway/central apnea events.
How is your sleep quality? Spending much time awake with mask and machine on?

Re: My AHI after 8 days
I always feelt like I have flu or something. And things get worse what I feel now becouse of my cold (
I easily get cold). I also think it is becouse I force myself to slept on my side and can't use to it and increses the pressure level on my machine makes me anxuse. I see the difrence for better but just little steps day by day (it's only 16 days). My immune system looks like working on the highest level at now. For me it's nothing new I live like that for over 20 years and did not know that I have OBS, so I live like that day by day. My score on sleep study was severe sleep apne: AHI 32. Any advice what should I do next? I should just wait and see how it goes or improve something?

Getting the CPAP working for you should greatly reduce those numbers of colds.thrax wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 10:30 amI always feelt like I have flu or something. And things get worse what I feel now becouse of my cold (
