Clicking noise from humidifier chamber
Something which is bothering me lately, and actually waking me up at night, is a clicking noise coming from the humidification chamber on my Air sense 10 Autoset machine.
With the fluctuation of air pressure changing from positive to negative as I inhale and exhale, the "clam shell" humidification part of the machine is ever so slightly trying to open and close at the point where is snaps closed. This is the area where the rubber or silicone seal prevents any water from leaking out.
I wonder if anyone else has this problem. Last night I finally wedged a folded up piece of paper between where the top of the chamber fits into the machine to help force it shut tighter and to stop the noise.
Yes, I am a very light sleeper and ANY TYPE OF NOISE can keep me awake or wake me up. Even when using ear plugs, the heightened sound of my own breathing can keep me awake. The same way if you plug your ears and talk, you hear your own voice louder, that's what I hear with ear plugs.
Has anyone else come across this sound?

Re: Clicking noise from humidifier chamber
Yes, me too. I use to give the machine a clap or two until the clicking stops.

Re: Clicking noise from humidifier chamber
Clicking of my humidifier was due to the gasket not seated properly I had disturbed it when filling, open the humidifier tub take off the silicone gasket and refit, mine was lifted on one edge causing the lid not to fit snugly

Yes Jas, I did make sure the gasket was positioned correctly but it still does it. But I am sort of happy to know its not just me. I guess its a design flaw then. Too bad.

If it were a "design flaw", then over the *years* the machine was out, you'd have hundreds, if not thousands of posts complaining about it.JustWondering wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 3:21 pmYes Jas, I did make sure the gasket was positioned correctly but it still does it. Counting yours, I've seen one.. plus a mention by someone else who said he'd fixed his... in this thread.

I hope that didn’t come across too strong. I’m not trying to rag on the machine. I am very happy with it in general and the fault is probably me being to light of a sleeper.
Also, I tend to not word things in a way that the written word clearly expresses my thoughts. I was just trying to see if others had this and what they may have done to fix it

You might check for an accumulation of water in your hose when you hear the clicking sounds.
From an historical standpoint, "rainout" can collect in a low section of hose when the warm water vapor condenses back into liquid form when it cools in the hose. At some point, the air has trouble getting past the water buildup and can make a clicking sound (water slamming around in the hose).

In may be some tolerance thing in the production, not a general flaw. I have the same problem, too, and the humidifier is assembled correctly. Using some appropriate rubber band to close the chamber fixes the problem.

Re: Clicking noise from humidifier chamber
Change humidifier tanks to see if the clicking goes away.
If it does, relegate the clicker to a backup.
If you don't have a second one, get one. You should have a spare of everything.

Re: Clicking noise from humidifier chamber
Clicking noise very common on my machine, a good thump sorts it out most times
Re: Clicking noise from humidifier chamber
My humidifier only clicks on my ASV S10 as the pressure increases on inspiration and clicks on expiration. I've tried everything to figure it out . Sometimes it wont but mostly does
Re: Clicking noise from humidifier chamber
Have you tried replacing the tank?

Re: Clicking noise from humidifier chamber
This is happening to me and the rubber band seems to reduce the loudness of the noise by maybe 80%. Did this problem go away when you replaced the humidifier chamber?multicast wrote: ↑Mon Feb 25, 2019 4:22 amIn may be some tolerance thing in the production, not a general flaw. WHAT clicking noise?
I left my hearing aid in last night, and never heard a thing.
