Discouraged by CAs induced by CPAP
I have been on CPAP for almost two months now with a Resmed Autoset 10 and a F30 mask. Initially my doctor recommended that I start with pressure range of 5 - 8 and EPR setting of 2. This seemed to help me feel better but I was still waking up in the middle of the night probably during REM sleep and not getting a full night sleep. Sleepyhead showed a high proportion of centrals (2/3 or 3/4 of all events) with an AHI varying between 2 and 5. People here said to not worry about those CAs but I was still concerned by them. My doctor suggested trying a fixed pressure of 5 for a few days to see if this would affect the CAs. The CAs were reduced quite a bit (1/3 or 1/4 of all events) but I got more H,OA and RE events and more flow restrictions (AHI still between 2 and 5) which made me feel worse in the morning and throughout the day. I am not sure what to try next in terms of pressure settings. I was not expecting this trade off with my CPAP treatment where treating my restricted airways seems to increase CAs and I am still waking up in the middle of the night and not getting a full night sleep. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Highlander. I see you have another thread about this same question. You were recommended to increase your minimum pressure and/or reduce your EPR. Did you try either of these things?
I don't think they like fragmented threads here from the same person. You should go back to your original thread and reply to it, which will bump it back to the top of the forums. I'm still getting responses in my thread and it's gotten pretty big.

Proportion means nothing. Your "centrals" could be 100% of your events, and still be insignificant.Highlander wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 11:15 pmSleepyhead showed a high proportion of centrals (2/3 or 3/4 of all events) with an AHI varying between 2 and 5.
For good reason.
:sigh:
You've already shown you're just going to ignore what's told to you.Highlander wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 11:15 pmMy doctor suggested trying a fixed pressure of 5 for a few days to see if this would affect the CAs. Hi Highlander,
I found a topic where someone was getting some Centrals and was given some pretty solid advice regarding them.
I'm thinking it would probably apply to you.
