Horrible AHI!!!
Horrible AHI!!!
I just switched to a full face mask (Resmed F20) from a nasal pillow. Recently found out I am a severe mouth breather.
I attached a Sleepyhead report of a typical night. I am unsure what is going on with the high AHI and low leaks.
Can anyone please help check it out as a courtesy. I will appreciate positve comments, suggestions and advice.
Thanks.

Please review this thread for graph formatting ideas.

You have omitted some useful graphs and included some not so useful.
You are using a really, really tight auto adjusting range...and I suspect you just need more pressure and the machine wants to give it to you but it can't with it being restricted to a 14 minimum and 15 maximum.
You just need a little more pressure with a full face mask than you needed with nasal pillows. Quite common really.
First thing to do is just open up the range to 20 and see where the machine wants to go.

cool, thank you for the help. I will make the adjustment to the range and read up on the graphs to maintain. Thanks again- I've been sleeping terrible and been panicked!

Virtually all of your events occurred just after you turned the machine on, or turned the machine off.
I'm not sure that you were asleep, and they might not have been real events.

How are last nights results looking with increased pressure range?

Re: Horrible AHI!!!
I hope the aforementioned worked out with changing your settings , I had switched last year to the F20 memory foam from the Quattro FX I also was just given a new machine last week I noticed a jump in AHI huge it went from 2.4 to 63.9 then 58.4 the mask wasn't leaking I use a resmed chin strap also so I tightened that way up which brought it down a little but not nearly good enough , I did some research I found there are more than one type of leakage from Lefty Lanky https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1rM5XIje6M I figured my problem was internal leakage I used a cozy hut neck pillow last night in place of my chin strap my AHI went down to 2.93 this neck pillow is a bit bulky but it will do until I get a different anti snore type device such as a Dr. Dakota mentioned in his article , I did get this one The Eliminator Series Washable Travel Sleep Pillow from Amazon as they didn't have the other in Large. Just something to keep in mind if your changes don't work out. I am diagnosed as severe also.

Re: Horrible AHI!!!
Thanks for posting that neck pillow. That is real nice how it's smaller on the back side.
I just got a cervical collar and my biggest complaint is the height of the back side.
I'm gonna give that one a go.

Re: Horrible AHI!!!
After making those suggested changes on the grapgh format, opening up the range to 20, here are a couple of nights results. The leaks are way down due to the full face mask not leaking with the help of the cervicle collar.Pugsy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 1:05 pmPlease review this thread for graph formatting ideas.

Even though the AHI's are lower, I still feel really foggy and hung over.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated please ....

Re: Horrible AHI!!!
I see multiple times where the machine was on and then off and back on again...
Do you have issues staying asleep? Do you have more wake ups we can't see because you didn't turn the machine off?
Why the fragmented sleep?
Are you having any nasal congestion? Your FL graph is a bit ugly.
Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what?

Yes, I do get up 3-4 times to use the bathroom and switch the machine off each time.
Also typically after 3 hours or so I wake up and cannot go back to sleep for an hour or two.
Nasal is stopped up nightly due to allergies.

Plus due to my being way overweight, I sleep in a recliner to breath easier. I also swallow lots of air and experience bloating in the middle of the night.
