Aircurve 10 ASV Modem

Post by bwexler » Thu Jan 03, 2019 5:36 pm

I bought my Aircurve 10 from a private seller in Canada.
Will the Canadian modem even connect to a US carrier?

If it can, Who, if anyone, would be attempting to connect and monitor my usage?
Who would be paying for the data connection? For that mater, when go through insurance and an in network DME who pays for the data connection?

Will any of the Resmed apps be able to provide a view of my data?
I know if I put my SD card in my computer I can see my data in Sleepyhead and Resscan.

my new, well old, DME mentioned data charges when I brought my SDHC card into be read for compliance update after my new doc couldn't read the card. I hadn't used health insurance for supplies in over 3 years, but I hit my deductible so I thought I would give insurance a try.

Because I bought the AC10 ASV second hand, the sleep tech indicated that the machine was registered or linked to a DME in the seller's state and that DME paid data charges. I dunno. Hope I dont get a bill!

The sleep tech punched in the SN and DN numbers in a database of some sort and I received an email below from MyAir and now MyAir at Resmed will not allow that machine to be registered with MyAir.

Not that I needed MyAir but the tech mentioned another data system separate from MyAir that could receive data for compliance and usage monitoring.

It doesnt bother me if the new DME or anyone else sees my data, as long as the machine works and my settings don't change. The modem can be disconnected without too much trouble, I suppose.

"The serial number of the machine you had on file with myAir previously had a relationship with a provider. That provider has removed this machine from your account so it has also been removed from your myAir account."

If you *own* the machine outright, because you bought it second hand from someone, then there is no need for compliance (usage) monitoring.

8 years ago I was hungry for data almost everyday, when I got my original S9 autoset.
Then 4 years ago when I got my ASV machine, data was important again.
Now with my new Aircurve 10 ASV I have downloaded my data for the first week or two
and things look OK. So now I am generally happy with some smiley faces and an AHI number on the screen.

I thought it might be interesting to see the data in MyAir, even if only for a good laugh.

data is important when things aren't working well... I don't check mine very often, because it's consistently working well.

I utilized ResMed ApneaAir Link gadget this will rapidly affirm a couple of things. One is how much weight you require, and that a standard APAP is appropriate. The other is more information on the breakdown of your apnea occasions, and how much an APAP can standardize the relaxing.

The doc wouldn't give me a prescription for cpap supplies even though they had my sleep study on file. The doc said it was a DME thing and the data was necessary to verify that I was still an active hose head.

I guess it's more like a 2 or 3 year spot check rather than continuous monitoring. Finally got the prescription sent to the DME, yippee.

I get all my supplies on amazon and ebay.

I suggest doing a price check, depending on your insurance, it may be cheaper that way...

Huh???

Apnea Link is now weighing us?? and deciding which machine is best for us? and doing relaxation stuff?

Me thinks someone doesn't quite understand what they think they understand about the Apnea Link gadget and the MyAir stuff which is what this thread was about.
Either that or a lead in for a sneaky spammer newbie post...which I will be watching for.
