My old REMstar looks like this and still works fine. Exterior dimensions are said to be 7" L x 5.5" W x 4" H = 18 cm L x 14 cm W x 10 cm H.
Although the bag that comes with it
looks good, it isn't really that well designed and it's unnecessarily awkward and bulky in shape for traveling without the humidifier. I'm looking for a compact, protective box or pouch that's just the right side for the main unit (without humidifier) to give it some protection if I put it in a suitcase. Anybody found a bag just the right size for this... or solved the problem some other way?

Are you looking for something that you can carry separately, or something that you can tuck into a suitcase?

Camera bags seem to be the go to item when people are wanting special sizes and added padding.
They come in all sorts of configurations and sizes.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

Something I can tuck into a carryon bag, so that it is not the only thing I am carrying on!

You can carry on a cpap machine in addition to your normal carry on allowance. If your happy carrying more than 1 bag. I slip mine over one shoulder and the laptop over the other.

In that case, just put your clothes around it. Better part=in, more protection, till it gets taken from you and checked, because the flight is full.
