Diuretics End my machine use.

Post by palepadre » Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:48 pm

I am prescribed Diuretics by two different Doctor Practices. Unfortunately, I must get up every two hours to relieve what becomes painful bladder pressure, and thus get broken sleep. And taking off the full face mask, then putting it back on, and then in 2 hours taking it off, etc. I told the Sleep apnea Doctor, and he agrees it's useless for me to continue the use of the machine. Now I am searching for a Dental solution.

Number one why do you take your mask off to go to the bathroom, just remove the hose and leave the mask on. Maybe you need to talk to the Doctors that are giving you all these diuretics, are you getting these from two different Doctors?

I have never unhooked my mask...most have a quick connect to remove and replace the hose very quickly. That is not a good excuse for not using the CPAP.

Any excuse seems to suit your wants, Take the Diuretic when you get up, it will be out of your system before bedtime. Deal with it, find another excuse for your denial. Jim

I don’t know what’s the most incredibly insane statement in the first post in this thread: diuretics prescribed by 2 different doctors or the statement the sleep doctor says using the machine would be useless.

I’m thinking giving any advice to the poster will be unheeded because of demonstration of severe lack of common sense shown by them thus far.

Consider: there’s only reason to have one diuretic in use at a time (I’m on one myself). If a patient doesn’t coordinate with doctors and inform them of what medicines they’re using, bad things will happen like truly heinious interactions and overmedication.

It makes zero sense for a sleep doctor to say using the machine is pointless unless... <fill in blank here>

Most doctors and pharmacists would recommend you take diuretics first thing in the morning, not at night. Who would want to be up all night having to pee?

No, you see, this is what's called "shouting into the turkey barn".

Some idiot comes here, and posts something provocative in order to get a response.

Used to, they'd do it as a guest post, not even registering... Thankfully, the ability to run by and fling shit into our pool has been curtailed, so now they have to take the time to register before making their deposit.

I was prescribed a diuretic, and I had to adjust my timing so that I wasn't up all night, or running to the bathroom all day at work. I got the impression it was supposed to settle down after awhile, but it didn't. While it did improve my high blood pressure, it was driving me crazy. The solution? I asked the doctor to put me on something else. It works, and I am not running to the bathroom. It never occurred to me to even consider stopping the cpap. Hell, even when I have a bad night with multiple trips to the bathroom, the cpap is still easy to do.
