Did anyone have depression that went away after using the machine for a while?

A whole bunch of us - too many to count!

Of course it is possible that some really did and do still have 'clinical' depression regardless of OSA, but so many who were felt depressed and were told they were prior to diagnosis are so much better now... so it does depend, but most are very much better off now.

My doctor originally diagnosed me with depression, but the medication she prescribed didn't do much. About 3 months later got diagnosed with OSA and started using my APAP machine, and 2 weeks after that I felt way better. Antidepressants didn't work as I wasn't depressed I was chronically sleep deprived! The symptoms have a lot of overlap though.

I was dx'd with SAAD, but it lasted all year. WTF?
Bright lights still "hop" me up, but cpap keeps me on an even keel.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I am hoping to be able to lower my dosage at some point.

I was trying all sorts of depression med's Definitely a lot better on CPAP. I'm not sure you could say I'm not still somewhat depressed, but the difference is night and day. ALso my aunt just died so that's having me feel depressed as of late.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"
