Anyone wondering why he doesn't want the fixed pressure Pro model anymore.
Several reasons really...
he needs auto adjusting for one thing...using a fixed higher pressure all night causes some problems...
and he actually does better with a bilevel machine...and I think he fell in love with the new bilevel he just got and if he doesn't already have a back up or spare just like it...won't be long.
Pugsy is correct. As I stated, this CPAP was retired when I needed to switch to an Auto BiPap (PR Dreamstation). The Auto BiPap was necessary for more effective therapy for my unique needs. While using the Dreamstation, I purchased a PR, DS760, Auto BiPap as a backup.
Recently, I purchased a used Resmed Airsource 10 VAuto. I wanted to try the Resmed BiPap VAuto algorithm, and I hoped my therapy would benefit from the finer PS and Ti adjustments. With the expert help of palerider and Pugsy, this Resmed has become my number one machine.
Long-story-short, The Resmed Vauto is now beside my bed, and the PR Dreamstation Auto BiPap is now my backup machine. The CPAP 460P is being offered at no charge to anyone that needs a machine but cannot afford one right now. Finally, my (80 total hour) DS 760 Auto BiPap backup machine to the Dreamstation is offered for sale on another post on this forum.
None of this is to criticize the Philips Respironics Auto BiPap. For me and my particular needs, the Resmed Auto BiPaP simply works better. I should qualify that claim by stating it works better when the settings are tweaked by palerider and Pugsy.
