Ordering new Dreamstation
Does the New Dream Station really have blue tooth built in? I have been reading a lot before placing my DME order. My doctors prescription lets me make all choices. It seems that the more I read the more confused I am. Will blue tooth capability connect to my phone? Is it really built in to all machines? I saw that there is also a cellphone modem available or a WiFi modem. What do I choose for the most flexibility? I have a Microsoft computer and a Samsung S5 Android cell phone. I am guessing WiFi and blue tooth. Most information I found is about Apple products.

Yes, they have Bluetooth. It's really only useful for synching to the dreammapper app on the phone, from what I can tell. There is an app for Android.
I'd assume the wifi module is more for compliance reporting over the internet. Maybe someone else knows better on that.

From what I understand, the modem is for communicating with your DME and/or provider. Bluetooth does enable you to download to their APP and worked well (the short time I had a DS). The challenge was that their app had fairly limited data (compared to Sleepy Head)
I have not heard of anyone able to use the built in bluetooth to upload to Sleepy Head....but perhaps that has happened? (I think a few have manage to use wi-fi enable cards.
How well do you like your current machine? If it is working very well (you feel well rested AND low AHI), I might stay with Respironics. If not, I might do ResMed. In any event, I did not find the communication options to be a decider.
Personally, coming from an S9, both an Aircurve and Dreamstation resulted in low AHI. I liked the humidifier design better with the dreamstation. I liked the hose routing better with the dreamstation. But I feel much more rested with the Aircurve. I stayed with ResMed. YMMV.

I hope you're getting the automatic.
My doc didn't even order an auto, they just brought one. I'm very grateful, as I found that for brief periods I do need the higher pressure.

The bluetooth will not upload to sleepyhead. You will need to either remove the SD card from the machine and put it in the computer to read it, or use the Toshiba Flash Air card. This card can be used to transfer data to your computer through your in home wi fi system. I use the in our machines and look at the data when ever I want without needing to move the card from the machine to the computer and then back to the machine. Since my wife and I both use the same brand and model machine, I find it easier to use the Flash Air cards and not worry about getting the cards mixed up and loading the data into the wrong sleepyhead file.

Re: Ordering new Dreamstation
I just ordered the DreamStation Auto CPAP with A-Flex and WiFi modem and a heated hose. My doctor loves the results of my original machine and this is as close as I could get in an updated new one. Hope it will not be slowed down by Christmas shipping.
