Itchy from Face mask straps/ outer corner of eyes burn and itch

I have a full face mask. Never had a problem for a year. Now I am getting itchy where the straps touch my hair above my ears. Also my ends of the skin near my eyes on the outer edges are getting dry and burning. Any ideas how to fix these areas?

Are you washing the straps regularly to eliminate body oils ? Did you recently change your detergent used to clean your gear? Maybe an allergy developing? I find when I start to get the itch on my skin that it is a result of the seasonal climate change and skin is drier than normal.

In terms of the eye, I would first search for excess facial oil (on the skin or mask). If not that, a small leak blowing towards the eye,

I would recommend using an unscented baby wipe to gently wash your face right before masking up.
This sounds like mild contact dermatitis, which can be remedied by gentle cleaning to eliminate irritants.
Of course, the headgear may also need washing--luckily, that's easy.
