Bipap causing arrythmias
I know this sounds odd and completely opposite but ever since I started using BiPAP I am now getting arrhythmias. My loop recorder was inserted and it is recording irregular heartbeats such as runs of atrial fib, pac's and PVCs. If I do not sleep with my BiPAP I do not have them. On BiPAP they are waking me up. Is anyone else had this problem? I've only heard of BiPAP improving arrhythmias not causing them.
Re: Bipap causing arrythmias
Is it possible the timing was coincidental? You maybe went onto bipap because you began having new problems and then blamed the bipap for them without realizing it (as they got worse)? Maybe check with your MD to be sure nothing new is really going on.

The settings on the machine may be wrong. What are the settings? More important, how was it determined exactly what the settings should be? How do you physically feel since starting treatment?
Yes, I think it important to do something proactive about getting the problem fixed. Whatever the problem is.

Re: Bipap causing arrythmias
Perhaps the arrhythmias are occurring while you are sleeping and if the Bipap wakes you up you become aware of the arrhythmias. Do you get immediate feedback from the loop recorder to correlate the arrhythmias frequency to using or not using the Bipap? I’ve had both the temporary and implantable loop recorders and neither could give me immediate feedback when I was having arrhythmias.
