Just looking for some of the regulars to have a look here, but I think I have a bit of a success here.
My issue was I have been on a straight cpap machine anywhere from 14-16 pressure for about 2 years. Over the last while I found my AHI was creeping back up, I was finding myself tired in the mornings again. Didn't really know what do to do as my sleepyhead graphs were to me to just be a bunch of random events of different types scattered throughout the night. A bit of everything.
Now, I managed to locate by chance a resmed ASV machine and thought I would give it a go for a couple of nights. I've included the my first two nights using this machine below. All I have to say is WOW. I've noticed differences already.
- I'm not waking up during the night feeling like an overinflated beach ball I think because my average pressure is much lower
- Much less tired in the morning.
- Slept for 8 hours the first night, and over 11 (!) the second. I think I must have been playing catch up
- AHI <0.2 both nights.
I did a fair bit of research and took my best shot at settings
- min epap 7, max epap 15, min ps 4, max ps 18 , asvauto mode
I don't see anything that stands out as concerning in these two graphs below. What'ya think? Am I safe to declare some level of success?
Maybe a success story?
Maybe a success story?

Re: Maybe a success story?
The proof is in how you feel during the day and how well you feel you are sleeping.
I would be declaring more than a small level of success.
On paper you look great and if you feel those good numbers then it's a win-win.
And yes...with the ASV it responds faster so you can get by with lower pressures when you don't need so much because it doesn't require the head start that the other auto adjusting models.
Good job.

Thanks for the confirmation Pugsy. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope it stays this way..
One quick question. I noticed no Central category on the event graph for this machine. I assume this is because the backup rate in these machines basically doesn't allow them to start?

I agree with Pugsy, it looks great.

There is no Central category as the machine fixes them allgreenall wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 2:03 pmThanks for the confirmation Pugsy. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope it stays this way..

I do have to say though, after using a straight cpap for 2 years, using the ASV felt a tad strange when you were awake before falling asleep. Feeling it correct for what your breathing was doing felt definitely different.
