I have been using my Dreamstation and subject mask since February and all has been great all along. But about 2 weeks ago I started having a problem with the headgear strap not staying on the back of my head. Through the night it would ride up to the top of my head which would loosen the nasal pillot which would start leaking and wake me up. Pull the head strap back down and go back to sleep. I couldn't figure out what the problem was all of a sudden after all these months. I have 2 complete headgears so I would immediately swap to the other one and wash the one that was causing the problem. That didn't solve the problem.
Finally 2 days ago I figured out the problem. I needed a haircut. My hair had gotten quite a bit longer than normal (I normally keep it very short) and with longer hair being slicker than short hair/skin "up it would slip".
After my haircut the problem absolutely ceased. The head strap now never moves all night.
Memo to self: Don't wait so long to get a haircut.

I've also noticed a difference with different pillow cases. Flannel pillow cases are more grabby. As it turns out a silk pillow case is the best.
