Smothered by Dreamwear FF Mask

Post by TrainGuy55 » Sat Oct 20, 2018 10:54 pm

Hi,

I have tried the following masks
  • Phillips Dreamwear Full Face (FF) Mask (Large Mouth Piece and Medium Frame)
  • Phillips Amara View (Large)
  • Resmed Airfit F20 (Large)
The F20 leaks a lot around the eyes unless I keep it super tight. Too tight to be safe I think.

The Amara view is great but it leaves my mouth so dry in the morning that I fear I will have dental problems in the future due to it. Thinking of trying the Resmed F30 soon.

The Dreamwear FF mask was the one I thought would really be perfect. It doesn't dry my mouth out and is pretty comfortable. The main issue though is there's just not enough air coming through and I feel like I'm smothering. It's night and day between the dreamwear and the other two in terms of air supply. The Dreamwear I need to maintain slow consistent breaths. If I breath to fast it will balloon and leak with a squeak. Usually waking me up.

Has anybody else experienced this issue? Not enough air and the ballooning. This is one of their top of the line masks so it's a tad surprising that not enough air is coming through.

Thanks

Raise the min. setting to 6 or 7, the max to 20 and lower EPR to 1 or 2 (if you need it at all) and come back to this thread in a few days to let us know how things go. The mask is probably not the problem - the default low setting of 4 is more likely.

Have you tried using the sizer in the Dreamwear package, to make sure that it is the correct size?
