Low ahi still waking regularly

Post by moonboots » Sun Oct 14, 2018 12:37 pm

I’m back after trying a few different setting on my machine. I was hoping the higher pressure would stop me waking but it hasn’t, I’m not on any medication ,I still have headaches in the morning and generally not feeling great, but I’m feeling better than before I started using my apap, As you can see from my charts I have tried min pressures from 6 to 19 over the space of a few weeks, my ahi is always low but I’m waking every couple of hours to go to toilet, I have videoed my self and don’t notice anything unusual before I wake, I have tried zooming in on my charts , sometimes I see some irregular looking waves other time not, I have also tried mouth taping but that didn’t help with waking up just meant I could use higher min pressure without my mouth drying out. I’m at a loss as to why I’m waking up so often, I would love to hear some thoughts on this and do people think it’s related to my apnea?

IF you're a male, you might want to get your prostate checked out if nothing else... not everything's about OSA. :)

Hi Julie, I had that checked last year, everything was fine, I’m starting to think maybe it’s something not Apnea related but what is a mystery, I have had nearly every test going over the years and nothing showed up.

I spend about 6 months with a urologist a couple of years ago with the same symptoms, he done all sorts to me and nothing made a difference but I will ask my doctor about my prostate when I see him forcresults of a scan next week

Awakening with headaches means low oxygen and high CO2.

Sounds like you are Desaturating despite CPAP.

Talk to your Sleep Doc.

Hi Emma, my sleep doctor is no good but I’m trying to get to see a different one , is there any way I can check oxygen and co2 myself , I remember them saying aftercthe sleep study that my oxygen levels were not to bad.

Oxygen checking yourself...easy
not so much the CO2 levels yourself as far as I know.

Overnight recording pulse oximeters. CMS even works with SleepyHead. CMS 50 D Plus or higher. Oxygen levels and pulse rate only though.

Thanks pugsy, I see that’s available online for about €30, might ask my doctor first if he has one I can use and if not buy that one
