SoClean Question
SoClean Question
NO....I'm not considering wasting my money on this snake oil.
What I need is credible information with data to back it up for discussions with poor souls who have fallen for the scare tactics in the SoClean commercials and pitches. I have read every topic about this nonsense posted here and other forums and when I do it's mainly for amusement purposes. I have Googled and haven't come up with anything definitively to argue against it. Mostly getting misinformation directly associated with the SoClean site and others (probably paid shills) praising its effectiveness.
Surely there must be scientific studies that prove it's unnecessary and even harmful. If anybody can help me out here, I would appreciate it. I know this dead horse has been beaten thoroughly and I'm not trying to start any new pros and cons discussions. Thanks.

Re: SoClean Question
Well, good for you, but... if you haven't been able to find anything here (or on other forums) as well as Googling, I'm not sure what to tell you. Have you tried e.g. googling what ozone might do to respiration or lungs etc?

Re: SoClean Question
Ii it served a useful purpose it would be recommended by *some* machine manufacturer,
You find hearing aid manufacturers recommend drying kits (either electrical or chemical) to prolong the device life.
There are no such recommendations for SoClean. Even they admit it does NOT clean and you need to clean your equipment anyway, as recommended by the machine manufacturer.

I'm sure if you Google it, you can find many studies the Earth is Flat" Studies don't mean Truth, they are paid opinions of groups of people that can get paid to write them. Yes, I do have that info since it pertains specifically to my COPD condition.
Thanks Julie.

Re: SoClean Question
As I'm sure you're aware, searching "SoClean" on this forum returns 1000's of hits. After reading through as many of them as I could, I felt like I would get better results asking a direct question to the forum. I recalled seeing the one post you listed, but couldn't find it in all the clutter. Good thing you were able to remember this particular thread.palerider wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 1:50 pmIf you actually HAD read everything here, you'd have come across these thread, and studies.

Re: SoClean Question
Sadly, most of these people trying to defend their poor choice, do so without any real evidence that SoClean actually does anything. I'm sure most of them are embarrassed by their decision to waste money, so they defend it even more.
Me giving them my "opinion" means nothing to them, so I needed some real ammunition. The links palerider so "graciously" gave up should do the trick. And if not, there's not much more I can do for them.
Thanks for the info and to avoid another hellstorm of discussion about SoClean, mods feel free to close this thread.

Re: SoClean Question
If the thread starts becoming nothing but personal attacks I will shut it down.
I got real tired of the personal attacks on the last SoClean thread. Especially since I have your okay...if it makes a sharp turn off the track to personal attacks I will shut it down forthwith.
If you see a personal attack before I do...send me a PM.
And yes...telling someone they are an idiot for buying one or they are an idiot for not using one....constitutes a personal attack.

There is little you can do for them, They have voted with their billfold, and put that $300 worth of germ laden money back into the system. I'm sure it's not the first unneeded product they have bought or the last.

Re: SoClean Question
Well, I watch their commercials on the Andy Griffith re-runs, and they are compelling commercials. We all have to accommodate our sanitary issues and some people may be wondering if they are doing an adequate job. Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing a good job cleaning my equipment. Then, I think that I've done ok over the years, let the laziness sink in, then go about my business (bitness'). To a newby…. well.... they are good commercials...…Goofproof wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 4:48 pmThere is little you can do for them, They have voted with their billfold, and put that $300 worth of germ laden money back into the system. Re: SoClean Question
I have one that a relative bought for me. I don't think it changes anything as far as sanitation, but I have to admit it does make the mask smell a little better.
FWIW: I wash out my mask/hose in the shower and hang them to dry where there is ventilation. I sometimes put them into the SoClean when I go upstairs to change out of work clothes in the afternoons. I like the smell after it's run thru the cleaning machine, but I probably wouldn't buy one myself (I don't even know how much they cost).
