Just wanted to share an interesting finding I've noticed in Sleepyhead
I've noticed a trend in my LL or large leak stats when wearing an oximeter on my finger, the CMS50D+, during the night. My SP02 numbers and pulse have been fine so I do
not wear it much but every time I do I have no, I mean 0, large leaks. At least not shown in Sleepyhead.
Last night I wore it to see if the meter battery would last for a third night and when I got for my nightly bathroom visit at around 1 am the battery was dead so I took it off my finger.
Sure enough the Sleephead data shows that large leaks started up again at a fairly good pace. None before 1:00 am.
Maybe I am conscious of moving around during the night with the meter on my finger and do not move around?
Any thoughts?
Tom C.
My setup:
Resmend S10 machine
Resmed Airfit F10 - After many masks this one works the best for me!
Mask liners
7 - 15 pressure
Age 65 - CPAP user for 15 years.

Re: Intersting Large Leak trend shown in Sleepyhead
Humans are fabulously adaptable creatures in that regard, that's a reasonable hypothesis.
People regularly do far more impressive things in their sleep than avoiding movement that causes something on your finger from being pulled off because you don't want it to be pulled off.
Here's a sobering thought: what if the reason you don't have it come off is because the act of measuring your sleep is changing your sleep into a more conscious sleep as you ensure it doesn't come off? By contrast, you use the mask every night, and it sounds like you sleep right through the large leaks and your movement patterns aren't affected much by that.

Sleep, sleep monster, sleep!
