I've used the Simplus FFM for three years. i like its size and shape, but the leaks are a constant problem, no matter what liners and straps and gel I use.
I've already tried AirFit and Quattro--they were too bulky for side sleeping.
Is there a FFM that is less leak-prone but still lets me sleep on my side?

Re: Choosing new FFM
masks are personal. your perfect mask may be my worst mask. my perfect mask may be your worst mask. the most frustrating part of cpap is finding the mask that most closely matches your needs because generally speaking you won't find that perfect mask. in my case it is the quattro fx. i have to tighten more than the so called experts would like but it works for me. to further complicate it, mask, cushion and headgear size are very important. you may find the best mask and it don't work because it is the wrong size. mask sizes are alot like women's clothing sizes. different with different masks and manufacturers. your head is not small medium or large, the masks are small medium or large. good luck.

Re: Choosing new FFM
All I can tell you is that the Simplus, the AirFit F20, and the DreamWear FFM are the most popular FFMs. ResMed just announced the AirFit F30, but I assume that won't be released until the end of the year if we are lucky.
The Simplus works great for me at high pressures. Only thing that sucks is I get red marks from the cushion. The DreamWear leaks like crazy at my pressures. The F20 is great overall but for me it really hurts the bridge of my nose, even though the material is supposed to do just the opposite.
If you can make the F20 fit comfortably, IMO it's probably the best FF mask out there - the materials are very sturdy, and the new quiet air elbow diffuser is very quiet.
Everyone's face is different and if we made a poll here a lot of people have different favorite masks.

I've recently begun using the Quatro Air. Formerly used the Quattro FX and Mirage. The Air is lighter. Side sleeper totally. I also changed to the size Large. It was a great improvement. Might want to look into it.

I am a side sleeper and I used the Quattro for 8 years....I just recently temporarily switched to the F&P Simplus. No problems with either one.Morningglory wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 12:14 amI've used the Simplus FFM for three years. i like its size and shape, but the leaks are a constant problem, no matter what liners and straps and gel I use.

Re: Choosing new FFM
Maybe your problem is actually your bed pillow. If your head is sinking too far into your pillow, it could be pushing your mask out of alignment and causing the leaking. There are many discussions in the archives regarding which ones work better for some folks. Mine is in my profile.Morningglory wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 12:14 amI've used the Simplus FFM for three years. i like its size and shape, but the leaks are a constant problem, no matter what liners and straps and gel I use.
